Managers note. It was obviously very disappointing to end the season without some silverware. A lot of credit must go to this group of players who have given huge commitment to Tralee Dynamos over the past 12 months. 10 players made their "A" debut's with Damien Quirke, Theo Diggins, Jamie McIntyre commanding starting places at different stages of the season. Most of the youth team have also made "B" debut's with youth team player Ricky Nolan ending the season as top scorer. Wayne Conway, Jeffrey Roche, Darren Lynch, Craig O'Hara played with the Kerry Under 16 team who lost the All Ireland semi final to Dublin 3-2. Wayne Conway ended up top scorer for Kerry with 4 goals in 4 games.
Damien Quirke, Theo Diggins, Wayne Conway, Jeffrey Roche have all been involved with the Kerry Eircom League under 21 squad also.
A huge thank you to David Stauton, Tralee Dynamos coach who invested so much time in the players over the course of the year and for all the advice that he gave me towards each of the players. The marked improvement of players goes down to David's excellent sessions over the year. To Chairman Ger Moloney for all the support over the season. To joint "A" Team Manager Colm Clifford for all the help, assistance, advice and financial support, and finally to "B" team manager Eddie Foster who looked after the players at senior level as well. To the senior team for all the advice you imparted to the youth players thank you.
A personal thank you to all the players for the commitment and respect that they have given me over the season. For the great memories thank you. It is also a great satisfaction that despite some negative tactics against us over the course of the season we ended the season with no red card. It is a credit to this group of players that the focus was always to play football well done and it's only a matter of time before the silverware follows.
Thank you also to players not in the photo above Alan O'Sullivan, Darren Lynch, Gavin Lyons, Adam Buggy who all contributed to the team.
I do hope that a serious review of youth team football will take place and that many issues should be discussed. Trying to keep a team together with only sparse games spread poorly throughout the season should be tackled as a major issue. Discipline and clubs being accountable for the action of all their players is another. The event of the upcoming Eircom Under 20 league is seen as promising development as it will be exclusive to the under 20 age group and no overage player can be involved.
