Reports by Padraig Hartnett - K.S.B.L

Under 14 Premier: Killarney Celtic 0 -3 Kingdom Boys:

Kingdom Boys emulated their under 15 counterparts in winning the League and Cup double and add that to the under 16 League and you will see how successful a season it has been for the Tralee club.

They went into their last game against Killarney Celtic three points ahead and knowing that they if they were beaten it would lead to a playoff . However they made no such mistake and wrapped up the title with a 3-0 win. Sean Moloney got two of the goals and Niall Sweeney the other.

Under 11 Div 1: Kingdom Boys 4- 9 Killarney Celtic B:

If there was a prize for the most improved team of the season then this Killarney Celtic side would be the winners. Having started the season poorly

they went into the alst game against Kingdom Boys knowing that a win would give them second place in the division after the Park B1.

Having beaten the champions earlier in the week they got the three points they needed with goal from David Clifford, Dean Farrell and Dion Marcus who each scored two and Finabarr Murphy, Danny Cotter and Daivd Spillane who got the others.

Under 12 Cup Final - John Murphy Memorial Cup: Dingle Bay Rovers 1-4 Killarney Celtic:

This game was much closer than the scoreline suggests as Killarney Celtic only got the two insurance goals in the last ten minutes.

In fairness to Dingle who had won Division One they pushed the Premier champions all the way.

Celtic opened the scoring through Darren Doherty and he then put them two ahead. Dingle pulled one back before Doherty completed his hat-trick and Conor Randall added the fourth.

Apart from the Under 13 Cup which is held up due to an Appeal to the FAI, and one or two other divisions all of the Schoolboys Leagues will have been resolved by this weekend.

Under 11 Div 1: The Park B1 are already crowned champions while the battle of the second spot has gone down to the wire.

The Park B2’s have finished their games with 25 points from 12 games. Killarney Celtic B came into the final week on 21 points from 12 games. There first game was against the Park B1’s and Celtic turned in a great performance to defeat them 6-1. The Park B1 had beaten Celtic well earlier on in the season but this Killarney Celtic is one of the most improved in the League.

Dion Marcus, Dean Farrell each scored one while Garreth Sheahan and Freddie Murphy each got two.

Celtic’s last game is against Kingdom Boys.

In the other game played in this division Kingdom Boys defeated Listowel Celtic 3-0 in both sides last game of the season. Dylan O’Brien got all three goals.

Under 11 Cup Final: Inter Kenmare 0 – 3 Killarney Celtic

Played in perfect conditions in Mastergeeha Killarney Celtic under 11’s completed the Cup and League double with this 3-0 victory. Conor McCarthy had a cup final to remember scoring all three goals. In fairness to Inter they tried hard all night but were just unable to get on the score-sheet. On the other hand this Celtic team have been in great form all season and will be delighted with the two titles.

Under 12 John Murphy Memorial Cup Semi- Finals:

The line-up for the John Murphy Cup final was completed this week with Killarney Celtic defeating Camp 4-2 in the second semi final and they now go on to meet Dingle Bay Rovers in the final.

Camp’s scorers were Brandon Hoare and Sean Brosnan but goals from Daniel O’Donoghue, Conor Randall and two from Liam Carey saw the Killarney side progress.

Under 13 Premier: Listowel Celtic 0 – 0 Killarney Celtic:

The destination of second place in the Under 13 Premier title, behind winners The Park, was in the hands of Killarney Athletic over the last two weekends even though they weren’t involved themselves.

Last week they looked to have doomed the chances of Listowel Celtic of finishing second when they took a point of them. This left Killarney Celtic in a position where a win would have seen then finish second. However Athletic did there neighbours no favours and also took a point of Killarney Celtic. This means that in the battle of the Celtic’s Listowel secure while Killarney have to settle for third.

The divisions champions The Park and Dingle played out a cracker as both sides wrapped up their seasons. The Park’s goals came from James Murphy, Kyle Fitzgibbon, Jessie O’Sullivan and Roman Laucher while Dingles’ scorers were Mathew Flaherty with two, Patrick Devane and Aidan Fitzgerald.

Girls Under 13 Cup Final: Listowel Celtic 4 – 0 St Brendan’s Park:

Goals from Lauren Flavin, Erin Finnucane, Leeanne Mangan, Savannah McCarthy gave Listowel Celtic’s girls under 13’s the Cup for this season. This team are also still in with a chance of the Double as they have a must win game against Mastergeeha to come and if they win this a play-off with Killarney Celtic.

Tucker Kelly Memorial Under 16 Cup:

St Brendan’s Park 3- 1 Killarney Athletic:

Four year’s in a row the Tucker Kelly Cup has been won by St Brendan’s Park – quite a record. Following their latest victory captain Graham O’Leary was presented with the Cup by Broana Kelly, accompanied by members of her family. Tucker Kelly was a great supporter of soccer throughout the county and its only fitting that he is remembered in this way.

The game, played in Ballyhar in blazing sunshine, was preceded by a minutes silence in memory of Killarney Celtic’s Jimmy Falvey.

Onto the game and The Park were out of the blocks like a hare at the greyhound track that is only a stones throw from their home pitch.

Within a minute they were 1-0 in front. Kiernan O’Mahoney did great work on right wing and his pass found Bill Mullins who didn’t miss from just inside the box.

The opening was frantic with Athletic trying to strike back immediately and a long ball by Cian Tobin almost caught the keeper out. In their next attack Nicolas Lotata was unlucky with a header.

Just when it looked like they might equalise Athletic were rocked at the other end when a long Dushko Kovac throw was headed to the net by Sean Wier to put the Tralee side 2-0 to the good.

Athletic were stunned and the best they could offer in their 15 minutes was a corner which was headed clear by Laurence Bastible but in reality it was all The Park. Graham O’Leary had a good run and cross which just eluded his strikers, Bill Mullins had another shot on target and Kieran O’Mahony was unlucky when he beat the keeper only to see his shot cleared of the line by Colm Tobin.

It wasn’t until the 23th minute that Athletic caused the next moment of panic in the Park’s defence. Derek Maye put in a good free-kick which the keeper could only parry but Kovac was on hand to get the ball to safety. The Park broke quickly from the kick-out and a nothing ball over the top was chased down by Bill Mullins, who was impressive all day. The bounce deceived Noel O’Sullivan in the Athletic goal and he was relieved to see Aidan Slattery get behind him to clear it off the line.

Athletic needed something to happen and in the 27th minute they nearly got the breakthrough they were looking for Conor McGill got free and his shot was on target but Park’s keeper Ciaran Higgins made a good save.

However in the 35th minute they did get back into the game. Cillian Fitzgerald’s ball put the keeper under pressure and Conor McGill was on hand to make it 2-1.

Indeed the same player was unlucky a minute later not to get the equaliser when he shot just over.

The Park did have the last shot in anger in the first half when Kieran O’Manhony’s effort was well saved by O’Sullivan.

Athletic opened the brighter in the second half and Cillian Fitzgerald went close twice. At the other end Mullins just failed to get on the end of a Laurence Bastible cross while Bastible himself had a shot a few minutes later which flew just wide.

A corner by Ryan Carroll drew gasps from both sets of supporters as it looked like the keeper had misjudged it but Higgins had his angles covered and it went wide of the near post.

Both sides were now cancelling each other out in the middle third of the field and chances were hard to come by. In the 25th minute it looked like Athletic might have got the break they were after as the Park were reduced to 10 men. Kieran O’Mahony was on a yellow card and following the awarding of a free kick to Athletic he kicked the ball away (although to be fair he only moved it a few feet) but referee Seamie O’Mahony had no option but to produce a second yellow.

Athletic pushed forward but within five minutes they themselves were also down to ten men. Sean Wier’s header was parried by O’Sullivan who made a great reflex save to also deny Bill Mullins volleyed rebound but the ball again fell to Mullins and Cian Horan on the line had no option but to handle the ball and so get an early bath.

Graham O’Leary stepped up and made no mistake and so 3-1 and game over.

Athletic will be disappointed with their start and to give any team a 2-0 start was always going be very difficult to pull back. They did give it their all but it wasn’t their day. The Park’s red hot start set them up for the rest of the game and they were never going to relinquish their title and so the Tucker Kelly Cup goes back to the Park’s trophy cabinet for the fourth year in a row.

St Brendan’s Park: Ciaran Higgins, Lorcan Seymore, Diarmuid McGarry, Dushko Kovac, Aaron O’Connor, Sean Weir, Shane Callaghan, Graham O’Leary, Laurance Bastible, Bill Mullins, Kieran O’Mahony. Subs Graham O’Sullivan (on), Jonathan Sills, Fergal McNamara, Niall Murphy and Pa Fitzgibbon.

Killarney Athletic: Noel O’Sullivan, Aidan Slattery, Cian Tobin, Cian Horan, Cian O’Neill, Derek Maye, Ryan Carroll, Jeff O’Donogue, Cillian Fitzgerald, Conor McGill, Nicholas Lotata. Subs; Richard Bartlett, Chris O’Leary, Brian O’Shea, Gavin Corbett, Tom Moriarty (on)

Referee: Seamie O’Mahony, Tom Templeman, Willie Gorman.

League Round-Up:

Under 11 Div 1: Inter Kenmare 0 -6 Park B2: This result with goals from Sean Tansley with 2, Karl Mullins, Oisin Murry 1 and two o.g’s has set up a fascinating end to this division. The Park B2 are now five points clear of Killarney Celtic. Park B2 have played all their games while Celtic have two left. One of these is against the division Park B1, so will they do their club mates a favour. Celtics other game is against Kingdom Boys so the Park B2 have a nail-biting wait.

Under 11 Prem; Listowel Celtic 2-2 Park: Listowel Celtic and St Brendan’s Park went into this mid week game both needing a win to keep their title hopes alive but it finished in a draw and so Killarney Celtic are under 11 premier champions with The Park just beating Listowel to second by a point. For The Park James Duggan and Cillian Brosnan were on target with Darragh Sheehy and Aidan Quinn scoring for Celtic.

Under 13 Div 1: Killorglin wrapped up this division with a hard fought 2-1 over Inter. Liam Carey and Shane Riordan got the goals to give them the points and the title. Inter’s goal came from Fintan Kennedy. The result also gives second place to Camp.

Under 13 Premier: Listowel Celtic travelled to Killarney Athletic knowing that a win would guarantee them second place behind League winners The Park. However they were held to a 1-1 draw and so finish their campaign on 27 points from 14 games. Killarney Celtic are on 24 points with one game left – interestingly against Athletic so the prospect of a play-off for second place is still a possibility or will Athletic spoil it for Killarney Celtic as they did for Listowel Celtic this time?

Mastergeeha and Castleisland finished off their campaigns with Mastergeeha taking the points 4-1. Damien and Derek Breen both scored, which is good news for the Kennedy Cup management. Kelvin Teehan got the other two.

Under 15 Premier: Top spot in the division has been wrapped up by Kingdom Boys for a while but second place is really in the melting pot. Mastergeeha went into the weekend knowing they had to win against Inter Kenmare and then win their last game against Kingdom Boys to catch Killarney Celtic who are finished on 19 points. They did the first part with two goals from Mark Reen and so onto the Kingdom Boys game.

Under 16 Premier: Kingdom Boys started the week knowing that four out of six points would be enough to give them the League title. In their first game Adam Piggott was on fire scoring 4 goals against Killarney Athletic. Uros Ivkovic got the other. They were up against Fenit in their last game and again it was Piggott who did the damage, this time scoring three goals. Darren O’Brien, Scott Monaghan and Ray Walsh were also on the mark in a 6-0 win that wrapped up the under 16 title for Kingdom Boys and so deny Listowel Celtic a historic six league wins in a row.

The only down side was that Uros Ivkovic was taken to hospital with a knee injury, which happened in the warm up and we all hope is not too serious.

In the other game Camp defeated Clanmaurice 4-2. Gary Counihan netted a hat trick in his last Schoolboy game and Sean Kennedy got the other one.

Girls Under 11 League: Listowel Celtic wrapped up another girls league with this 1-1 draw away in Kenmare. Tina Magan got the all important goal.

Reports:

Under 11 Cup Semi Finals: Killarney Celtic and Inter Kenmare will meet in this years Under 11 Cup final.

However for a long time it didn’t look like it for Killarney Celtic as they 3-0 down and 4-1 down until late in the game. Indeed the first time that Killarney Celtic went ahead was when the got the seventh goal!

To be fair to the team and management they never panicked when they were behind and when they won a few corners sent up the big players and got the goals back.

For Celtic Conor Randall was the hero netting five with the other coming from David Carroll and Ciaran McCarthy.

For the unlucky Park side James Duggan and Sean Fitzmaurice got two each with Aaron Dunne and Murrough Connelly also scoring,

In the other semi final it was more straight-forward as goals from Pat Spillane, Cathal Granville and two from man-of-the-match Stephen O’Sullivan was enough to see Inter Kenmare into the final.

Both Dingle Bay goals were scored by Liam Brosnan.

Under 14 Semi Final: Killarney Celtic led this game 1-0 until very late in the game when the conceded a penalty for hand ball. Depending on which line you were on it was a definite penalty or nothing close!! Darragh Carmody showed his composure and scored to send the game into extra time and subsequently into penalties. Kingdom Boys held their nerve better scoring four and with their goal keeper Ciaran O’Connor saving two of Celtic’s Kingdom Boys go on to meet Killarney Athletic in the final.

Under 13 Premier; Mastergeeha 2-3 Killarney Athletic; Mastergeeha’s hopes of a top two finish suffered a blow in this game as they went down to local rivals Athletic. Athletic had Denis O’Sullivan, Christian Lastarczy and Risteard Clifford on the mark to take the points while for Mastergeeha Kennedy Cup bound Damien Breen scored twice.

Under 15 Premier: Killarney Athletic have an outside chance of getting into second place in this division following their 4-1 win over Mastergeeha. Two goals from Cillian Fitzgerald and one each from Brian O’Shea and Colm Tobin gave Athletic the points while Gary O’Leary replied for Mastergeeha.

Under 16 Premier: While a lot of the focus in this division has been on Listowel Celtic and Kingdom Boys, The Park have been quietly picking up points and have now moved into third place following this win and are well in contention.

They picked up their latest points following this 3-2 win over Athletic. Graham O’Sullivan, Bill Mullins and Aaron O’Connor all scored for the Park while Tom Moriarty and Cillian Fitzgerald got the Athletic goals.

In the other game in this division Fenit defeated Inter Kenmare 4-1.

Killarney Celtic got the better of The Park to keep their double hopes alive. Two goals from Darren Doherty and one from Tadgh Moore saw The Hoops through.

The Iveragh United clash was much closer going all the way to sudden death penalties. It finished 2-2 after extra time with Jack O’Connor and Andrew Quigley on the mark for Iveragh. Into penalties and the first ten were scored with the side’s level at 5 all going into sudden death. Following a Killorglin miss Ronan O’Shea made no mistake to put the South Kerry side into the semi final.

The Tucker Kelly Memorial Cup final line-up is complete and it will see Killarney Athletic play The Park. Athletic were 3-1 winners over Camp, who were a little unlucky on the day. In the other semi final it was the all Kerry clash of The Park and Kingdom Boys and it was the Park who won the day 2-1 after extra time. Adam Piggott got the goal for Kingdom Boys but Bill Mullins and Graham O’Leary were on the mark for the Park to see them into the final.

Conor Randall, Mathew Ryan, Stephen Kelliher, Evan Cronin, Cian Jenkins and Fergal O’Donoghue all scored for Killarney Celtic who now meet the Park in Killarney in the semi final.

Under 15 Cup Semi Final: Mastergeeha 1 – 1 Killarney Athletic AET

                                            Mastergeeha win 4-2 on penalties.

This was always going to be very tight, especially after the same teams drew 2-2 in the League on the previous weekend. Enda O’Sullivan scored for Mastergeeha and Jack O’Connor for Athletic in normal time and with no more scores in extra time it was onto the dreaded penalties. Jeff O’Donoghue and Jason Aherne were on the mark for Athletic but it wasn’t enough as Mastergeeha were in top form from the spot with Enda O’Sullivan, Graham O’Leary, Jamie Spillane and James Devane all scoring to set up an intriguing final against Kingdom Boys.

Under 11 Div 1:

Goals from Jonathan O’Sullivan and Dean George gave Killorglin all three points in this game.

Under 13 Premier: St Brendan’s Park take the top honours in this division with a league winning 1-0 win over Killarney Athletic. Tomas Ziga got the all important goal despite the best efforts of man of the match Roy Kelliher in the Athletic goal.

The battle for second places continues at pace with Listowel Celtic moving 2 points  ahead of Killarney Celtic thanks to a 4-0 win over Kingdom Boys. Sean Gilbert scored twice with Michael Woods and Kevin Bowler getting one each.

Under 15 Premier:

Kingdom Boys wrapped up the Under 15 premier title following the clash of the top two. They led Killarney Celtic by three points going in and had a game in hand so they knew a win would be enough. It was a very tight affair with Kingdom Boys jst coming out on the right side of a five goal thriller.

Tadgh Moore got the two goals for Celtic but Adam Piggott, Uros Ivkovic and Niall O’Riordan once again proved their class and their goals saw the title go to the Tralee side.

Under 16 Premier:

The see-saw battle at the top of this division has shifted in favour of Kingdom Boys following their 2-0 win over challengers Listowel Celtic. The top of the table now see Kingdom Boys with 25 points from 9 games, Listowel Celtic with 25 points from 10 played and Killarney Celtic on 22 points from 10 games.

Kingdom Boys have two games left – Killarney Athletic and Fenit while Listowel have only Killarney Athletic left to play.

Adam Piggott and Darren O’Brien were the Kingdom Boys scorers but the win was built on a superb back four performance from Aaron Houlihan, Ian McCarthy, Donal O’Sullivan and Patrick Sweeney who didn’t put a foot wrong all night.

Girls: Under 13 Killarney Celtic 2-1 Listowel Celtic:

Killarney Celtic were jubilant following this rare win over Listowel. They now lead their rivals by three points but Listowel have one game left so a win over Mastergeeha would see the two Celtic clash again for the title. However anything less for Listowel Celtic would see Killarney take the title. Leanne Mangan got the Listowel goal but two from Olivia Dawson, the winner set up by a perfect Lucy Lyne pass, saw the Killarney hoops take the vital three points.

Under 15 Girls Cup Final: Inter Kenmare 0- 7 Listowel Celtic:

Played on a perfect Ballyhar pitch Inter tired hard and had some great performance from the likes of Siobhan Kennedy and player of the match Geraldine Cahillane. However this Listowel Celtic side exudes confidence and Dominic Scanlon’s side had hat tricks from Megan Galvin and Amy Griffin and one from Norma O’Sullivan to take the Cup back to their bulging trophy cabinet.

 Reports:

Under 11 Cup:

In a back game Killarney Celtic got the better of a young Park side 7-2 to qualify for a place in the quarter final and a meeting with Listowel Celtic. Evan Cronin put Celtic 1-0 up but the Park scored the next two. Celtic heeded the warning and took control will a Conor Randall hat-trick and further goals from Stephen Kelliher, Michael Murphy and Fergal O’Donoghue.

There were two semi final places decided with The Park A going through 2-0 against Listowel Celtic B while Dingle Bay Rovers were 3-1 winners over Camp. Two goals from Liam Browne and one from Conor Geaney put Dingle through while Eoghan Curry’s reply wasn’t enough for Camp.

Under 13 Cup semi final:

Castleisland booked their place in the final the hard way winning on penalties after a scoreless game and scoreless extra time.

Colm Murphy, Paul Nelligan and Shane O’Connor kept their heads from the spot and put their side through. They will have to wait a little to see who they play as the Park and Kingdom Boys quarter final hasn’t been decided with Listowel Celtic A awaiting the winners in the other semi final.

Under 15 Cup semi final:

Kingdom Boys were too strong for neighbours Park in the first of the under 15 semi finals. Two hat-tricks, one from Adam Piggott and the other from Darren O’Brien plus two from Uros Ivkovic and one from Scott Monaghan put the Tralee side into the final where they await the winners of the other semi final, being played later this week, between Mastergeeha and Killarney Athletic.

Under 13 Girls Cup Final:

Another piece of silverware is heading for the Listowel Celtic club house following this win over Inter Kenmare in the final. Lauren Flavin, Rebecca Horgan and Leanne Mangan were all on the score sheet for the winners.

League Reports:

Under 11 Premier: Killarney Athletic 6- 0 Mastergeeha:

Killarney Athletic were too strong for Mastergeeha in this game and picked up another three points to stay in the top half of the division. Mastergeeha were playing their last game of a tough season but never gave up trying and working hard.

Ronan Buckley continued his recent good form scoring twice as did Gavin White while the other goals came from Adam O’Shea and Michael Casey.

Under 11 Div 1:

Kingdom Boys B 2- 2 Park B2; Killarney Celtic will be thankful to Kingom Boys ofr taking points of the nearest challengers in this game. The Park did pick up a point which leaves them two behind Celtic in third place. Dylan Burke and Karl Mullins were on the mark for Park.

Under 13 Prem:

Listowel Celtic closed the game on the two sides above them following their 4-0 win away to Camp. Sean Farrell. Michael Woods, Sean Gilbert and Thomas Scanlon all scored one each to put Listowel Celtic on 20 points and in third on their own as Mastergeeha, who were level with them didn’t play.

The Park lead the way on 28 points followed by Killarney Celtic on 20 points.

Under 13 Div 1:

Sitting top of the table at the start of play Killorglin picked up another vital three points but were made work all the way by Clanmaurice. Killorglin move onto 28 points from 11 games and with one left to play, lead Camp by seven points but they have 3 games left. Wesley Delaney scored twice from the penalty spot and Liam Carey got the other goal.

Camp moved into second place in the division and two points ahead of Inter Kenmare, who do have a game in hand, following their 6-0 home win against Listowel Celtic B. Jonathan Deane has had a very good season and netted another hat trick. Shane Spillane, Brandon Hoare and Jason Walsh were also on the mark.

Under 15 Div 1:

Camp 3- 0 Listowel Celtic: This was the last game of the season for these two sides and a huge game as it was the title decider. Celtic were a point ahead going into the game but home advantage certainly worked out for Camp as they took the title.

James Crean put them 1-0 up early on. Both sides battled hard and had chances to score but it wasn’t until 15 minutes to go when Keelan Dowling scored a crucial goal for Camp and just to make sure he added another late on.

Well done to Eamon Travers and Aidan Smith and their charges on this win and afterwards were presented with their trophy by League chairman Noel White.

Under 15 Prem:

Mastergeeha 2-2 Killarney Athletic: This league game acted as a dress rehearsal for their meeting in the Cup semi final later in the week and proved to be an exciting affair. Padraig Nagle got two for Mastergeeha, either side of a Colm Tobin strike. Just when it looked like the home side would take the confidence boost of the win into the semi final Ronan Murphy steeped up to equalise in the last minute.

Under 16: Inter Kenmare L – L Clanmaurice.

First week of May – Mid Week Results:

Under 12 Cup Quarter Final: Listowel Celtic 0 – 3 Killarney Celtic:

Killarney Celtic set up a semi final clash with The Park, who have finished runner-up to them in the League after defeating their namesakes 3-0 although to be fair to Listowel the score-line was a little flattering. The game finished 0-0 after normal time but in the extra period Killarney Celtic got the better of things with goals from Shane Cronin, Conor Randall and Michael Burns.

Under 12 Premier:

Park 8- 4 Killarney Athletic: This 12 goal thriller saw St Brendan’s Park wrap up second place to their old rivals Killarney Celtic following their win over the other Killarney side, Athletic. The Park who won the League at under 11 last season and Celtic who won the Cup must meet again in the Semi Final of this season’s Cup.

In this game The Park had seven different scorers showing their danger all over the field with Roman Laucher leading the way with two goals.

Jessie O’Sullivan, Cian Sheridan, Willie Hurley, Gavin O’Brein, George Carneige and Ryan Carroll all scored one each.

Under 13 Prem: Kingdom Boys 2-1 Killarney Athletic: Goals from Dylan Flynn and Gary O’Neill gave Kingdom Boys the three points in this game between two sides who have struggled a little in the League this season.

Under 14: Killarney Celtic 6-0 Killarney Athletic: Killarney Celtic came into this must win game for them a point behind Athletic and knowing that nothing less that three points was going to be enough to keep their title dreams alive. They succeeded with a great performance and had goals from Kieran Murphy, Cathal Sheehan, Scott O’Mahony, Liam O’Sullivan, Wayne Sparling and Conor Keane.

The last game of the season will see second placed Celtic meet Kingdom Boys who top the table and lead the Killarney side by three points. A Celtic win will set up a play-off while anything for Kingdom Boys will see them claim the title.

Under 15 Prem: Kingdom Boys 3-1 Mastergeeha: Two goals from Darren O’Brein and one from Adam Piggott saw Kingdom Boys strengthen their grip at the top of the under 15 division.

Under 16: There was plenty of mid week action at under 16 level and after these games Listowel Celtic top the table on 25 points from 9 games followed by Kingdom Boys on 22 points from 8 games with both sides having to play each other once more this season. Listowel got the better of Castleisland 2-1 with goals from Kevin O’Connor and Bryan Murphy. Sean Brosnan got the Castleisland goal.

Castleisland played again on Thursday night and Brosnan again scored. This time the goal was enough to give Castleisland all three points in a 1-0 win over Killarney Athletic who were unlucky to come up against an inspired Paul White in the Castleisland goal who made a number of vital saves.

Killarney Celtic made sure of at least third place (they are level in second with Kingdom Boys but have played two games more) with this 4-0 win over Clanmaurice. Brendan Favley was outstanding scoring all four goals.

Killian Lynch equalised for Listowel after Michael Casey put the Killarney side 1-0 in front. Lynch then put Listowel ahead before Dylan O’Sullivan equalised before half time.

There were no further goals in the second half or in the first period of extra time.

However in the second half of extra time it became the Dale Mulvihill show as he scored twice to put his side into the last eight.

Under 16 Cup: The Park set up a big clash with neighbours Kingdom Boys in the semi finals of the Under 16 Tucker Kelly Memorial Cup after this 7-0 win over Clanmaurice. Under 12 Prem: Killarney Celtic wrapped up this division following a 7-0 win over Inter Kenmare.

While the score line might be a little flattering the fact that Celtic are unbeaten so far shows how good they are this season. Darren Doherty got three, Daniel O’Donoghue 2 with Padraig Clifford and Michael McCarthy getting one each to give Celtic the title with one game left to play.

St Brendan Park move into joint second place following this 3-1 win over Ballyhar. They are now level on 15 points from 7 games with Killarney Athletic, but have 2 games lesser played. Both sides still have meet each other with the Park also having to play Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic.

In the battle for third place Fenit Samphires started the day two points ahead of Kingdom Boys and both sides clashed in their last game of the season. It was Fenit who took the points on a 3-2 score-line following goals from Ryan Dolan, Ivan Parker and Fionn Griffin and so Fenit finish in third place.

Under 12 Plate: Killarney Celtic B 6-2 Castlemaine. Killarney Celtic have improved very much this season and took the points here with goals from Kenny Hussey 3, Cory Doyle 2 and Matt Rennie 1. Castlemaine for their part are a new club this season and can take great satisfaction at their continued improvement and will no doubt be a force when they play a full league campaign next season. Jonathan O’Sullivan and Chris Flynn scored for Castlemaine.

Under 14 Prem: Kingdom Boys took a huge step to winning this division after defeating 4th placed Listowel Celtic 7-1. The Tralee side are now on 24 points from 9 games. Killarney Athletic are second on 19 from 9 followed by Killarney Celtic on 18 points from 8 games. The final games in this division sees Killarney Athletic play Killarney Celtic with Celtic due to meet Kingdom Boys in the last game of the season so this division is going down to the wire.

Under 14 Div 1; Inter Kenmare and The Park met in the title decider in Kenmare with The Park holding a two point advantage. However in front of a big home crowd Inter were on fire and won the game 5- 0 and took the title. Brian Clifford was in superb form netting a hat trick and the other two came from Brian Crowley and Colm O’Sullivan.

Under 16 Prem: Kingdom Boys continued their great run which now sees then join Listowel Celtic on 22 points with both sides having now played 8 games and having two games left.

They picked up their latest three points following a 6-0. Their goals came from Darren O’Brien 2, Scott Monaghan 2, Dara O’Brien 1 and Aldo Gaxha.

Reports:

Under 12 National Cup Quarter Final:

St Kevin’s Boys 9-1 Killarney Celtic.

Killarney Celtic’s great run in this season’s National Cup came to an end when they came up against and excellent Kevin’s Boys side. Celtic had hoped to keep the home side early in the game but this plan went out the window as they conceded after 35 seconds and unfortunately it didn’t get any better.

Daniel o’Donoghue got the Killarney Celtic consolation.

Under 12 Cup’s:

With The Park already through and the Killarney Celtic / Listowel Celtic and Camp / Listowel Celtic B games off there were four places in the last 8 of the Under 12 Cup up for grabs on Saturday.

Inter Kenmare, with goals from Shane O’Sullivan (2), Fionan O’Sullivan and Eric Byrnes saw off Mastergeeha 4-1. Mathew Keane got the Mastergeeha goal.

Killorglin saw off Fenit by the same score. Liam Carney (2), Tommy Cahill and David Costello were the Killorglin scorers with Denis Cosgrove replying for Fenit.

Killarney Athletic, with Jordan Kiely, Sean McGrath, David Sheerin, Brendan Cronin, Ziaul Hoque and Johnny O’Leary all on the mark, got the better of a gallant Park C side whose reply came from Ryan Byrnes.

Things were much closer in Dingle with Dingle Bay Rovers getting the better of Ballyhar by the odd goal in seven. James O’Donoghue and Kierna Brosan (2) were on the mark of Ballyhar with a hat-trick from Cathal Bambury and one from Tom O’Sullivan saw the West Kerry side into the hat for the next round.

However plaudits on the day must go to Iveragh United who, with two goals from Jamie Goggins saw off Kingdom Boys.

Under 12 Div1:

Asdee 5-2 Clanmaurice: Both sides are coming to the end of their seasons and Asdee will be happy that their hard work has seen them pick up three points.

Dara Keane was the top scorer with a hat-trick, Sean Keane scored one and Owen Tydings who started in goal, came outfield and scored the final goal.

Under 14 Div 1:

Fenit and Asdee finished their season with the points going to Fenit on a 2-0 score-line.

Under 14 Premier:

Listowel Celtic moved closer to the sides above them following this 4-3 win over Clanmaurice. Jer McCarthy scored twice with Patrick O’Keeffe and Nigel O’Connor netting the others.

Under 14 Cup:

Inter Kenmare and Killarney Athletic qualified for the Cup semi finals in the day’s early games. Inter Kenmare won 3-1 away in Killorglin with goals from Colm O’Sullivan (2) and an o.g.

Killarney Athletic also won on the road defeating The Park 2-0 in Tralee . Diarmuid Galvin and Cathal Murphy were on the mark.

Under 16 Cup:

Killarney Celtic 1-2 Kingdom Boys: Kingdom Boys certainly have the Indian sign over the Killarney counterparts as they have come out on top on all three occasions that they met this season. However there is rarely much between them and again this was the case. Darren O’Brien and Adam Piggott put Kingdom Boys 2-0 ahead before Brendan Falvey pulled one back for Killarney Celtic.

Mastergeeha tried hard but were not able to hold a very good Listowel Celtic team. Megan Galvin scored a hat-trick with Amy Griffin and Norma O’Sullivan netting two each.

Under 13 Premier:

There was mixed fortunes for the leaders in this division as The Park played twice, winning one and losing one. However despite the loss they still have a ten point lead over Killarney Celtic who are in second.

The Park’s first game was against Mastergeeha and they won 4-0 with goals from Roman Laucher 2, Greg Horan and Jessie O’Sullivan.

In their second game they went down 3-1 to Listowel Celtic. Again Greg Horan was on the mark for The Park but goals from Ian Murphy, Kevin Bowler and Sean Gilbert gave the North Kerry side all three points.

Killarney Celtic got their three points following a 3-1 win over Castleisland. For Celtic Tony Brosnan got 2 and Darragh Roche the other while the Castleisland consolation came from Paul Nelligan.

Under 14 Premier: Kingdom Boys 2 – 0 Killarney Athletic:

Kingdom Boys leap frogged Athletic with this result and now lead the way by 2 points. Wayne Duggan and Dara Carmody from the penalty spot were the Kingdom Boys scorers.

Under 15 Div 1: Park B 0 – 3 Camp: Divisional leaders Camp weren’t phased by the trip to Tralee and came away with a 3-0 win following goals from Tom Clifford, Pa Fitzgibbon and Jerimiah Quirke.

Under 16: Castleisland 1-6 Kingdom Boys: Adam Piggott was celebrating his latest Ireland call-up and hit four goals in this game. Ray Walsh and Darren O’Brien were the other scorers. Kingdom Boys continue to move up the table as they play back games due to their long run in the National Cup and are a big danger to those still above them.

Girls Under 15: Mastergeeha 4-3 Inter Kenmare:

Mastergeeha took all three points in the closely fought encounter with Aoife Hughes getting one and Nicole Doyle helping herself to a hat-trick. For Inter Rachel Hawker got two with the other being an o.g.

Under 12 Plate: Park 5 -1 Castlemaine:

The Park were 4-0 up against a Castlemaine side who were playing only their second game of the season. With the growth of young soccer players in the Castlemaine area the club decided to enter a team in the Kerry Cup and they also entered this Plate competition. The Park would be much the more experience and had a hat trick from Fionn Kavanagh and goals from Danny Roche and Shane Finnerty.

In fairness to Castlemaine they never gave up and in the second half got some reward with a goal from Johnny O’Sullivan. This team will grow with experience gained this season and will be ready for a tilt at the under 13 division 1 title next season.

Under 13 Prem: Kingdom Boys got their week off to a good start with a 4-0 win over Castleisland. Dylan Horgan got 2, with Shane Ryan and Shane Finnerty netting one each.

Under 15 Prem: Killarney Celtic 0-2 Kingdom Boys: Kingdom Boys got their fourth straight league with this victory away in Killarney.

Under 16: The Park who had a number of back games to play were out twice in mid week and picked up four points to move joint top of the table. Firstly they beat Clanmaurice 2-0 (Graham O’Leary and Shane Callaghan) and then played out a 1-1 draw against Killarney Celtic in a game that both sides couldn’t afford to lose.

The table now stands Listowel Celtic 19pts from 7 games, Park 19 points from 8 played and Killarney Celtic 19 points from 9 played.

Dingle Bay Rvs in second place at the start of play suffered a 4-1 loss to Castleisland. Two from Jack Cooney and one each from Shane McLoughlin and Shane O’Connor were on the mark for Castleisland with Cathal Bambury netting for Dingle.

Killarney Celtic took advantage of Dingle set back to move two points clear of them following their 2-0 win over Kingdom Boys. For Celtic Conor O’Leary and Tony Brosnan were on the mark.

Mastergehea were led by the prolific Damien Breen who added three more to his season’s tally in their 5-0 win with Kelvin Teehan and Mason Ferris also on the mark.

News: The call-up keep coming for Kerry Schoolboys players with the great news that Paudie Quinn (Fulham FC) and ex Listowel Celtic and Castleislands Sean Brosnan have been called up to the Ireland Under 17 squad for two home games against Poland later this month.

And to top a great week for Brosnan he, along with Sean Daly, also of Castleisland and Listowel Celtic’s Brian Murphy have been invited to the Emerging Talent final Assessment where a squad will be picked for the Den Haag Cup in Holland in the summer. Well done to all the boys and their coaches and once again shows that Kerry players are now very much in the thoughts of all Ireland under age managers when they go about picking squads.

Reports: Under 12 Cup: Two first division teams clashed in this first round game, Asdee and Kingdom Boys and it was the Tralee side that booked their place in the next round winning 1-0 with Sean Ryan getting the goal.

Under 14 Cup: Inter Kenmare, who are the top team in division one, defeated Fenit 6-0 to advance to the second round. The ‘Life of Brian’ could be the theme of the day with Brian Crowley and Brian Clifford netting two each. Gavin Crowley and Colm O’Sullivan got the others.

The other Cup game was a very tight affair with Iveragh United making the long trip to Fenit a winning one 4-2, but after extra time.

The game finished 1-1 after normal time with Ryan Mulvihill and Owen O’Sullivan sharing the goals. However in extra time O’Sullivan scored again for Iveragh United and Dara Stack got two more while Asdee could only manage one from Blake Horniac.

Under 12 Div 1: Killorglin came into this game having to win to move level at the top of the table with Dingle who weren’t playing. They achieved this by winning 7-1 over Clanmaurice and now both sides are on 27 points with one game left for both sides.

Gavin O’Riordan helped himself to four goals with Paudie McMahon, Tommy Cahill and Daniel McBeth all scoring one each.

Under 12 Plate: These were the first games in this competition for B teams and debutants Castlemaine and the results saw Listowel Celtic defeating Castlemaine 4-0 and The Park B winning 2-1 in Killarney against Celtic B.

In the Listowel Celtic game Adam O’Rourke scored a hat trick and Derice Barry got the other. For The Park the Hill’s (Fionn and Brian) both scored while Daniel O’Connell got the Killarney Celtic score.

Under 12 Premier: Killarney Celtic 2-0 Ballyhar. Eight wins from eight games shows that this team is high on confidence and are going into their forthcoming National Cup quarter final in great form. However they were made fight all the way by Castlemaine. Goals from Daniel O’Donoghue and Paudie Clifford were the difference between the teams.

Under 14 Div 1: St Bernard’s 1-8 Ballyhar. Ballyhar finished their league campaign with a good win on the road. Garroid Coghlan netted three, Donal Foley 2 and one each from Timmy Clifford, Mark Sherwood and Fergal Hallissey saw Ballyhar take all three points. Michael O’Leary got the St Bernard’s consolation.

Under 14 Premier: Killarney Celtic had to win this game if they wanted to give themselves any chance of finishing in the top two. Before the start of play in this ten game division Killarney Athletic were top on 19 points from 8 games, Kingdom Boys are on 18 points from 7 games (there two sides meet next week) while Celtic were on 12 points from 6 played. Celtic did what they had to do defeating Clanmaurice 4-0 with goals from John Moriarty, Wayne Sparling, Scott O’Mahoney and Liam O’Sullivan. Celtic move onto 15 points with three games left.

Under 16; Listowel Celtic completed a great week which saw them pick up six points from two games (and are now on 22 points) to move four points clear of Killarney Celtic at the top of the table. Both sides have two games left while Iveragh United are in fourth at the moment on 14 points having played all their games so the danger to the top two comes from Kingdom Boys who are on 13points but have only 5 games played and were in Cup action this week and Killarney Athletic who started the day on 13 points from 6 games.

Listowel Celtic’s goals in their 5-0 win over Camp came from Dara Kennelly with 2 and one each from Jamie Barry, Patrick Costello and Bryan Murphy.

Killarney Athletic also had a very important win defeating Fenit 2-1 away and so move into third. Ryan Carroll and Jeff O’Donoghue were on the mark for Athletic.

Under 12 National Cup: Last 16 – Killarney Celtic 3- 0 St Joseph ’s:

Killarney Celtic march into the last 8 of this seasons National Cup following this excellent 3-0 win over St Joseph ’s of Athlone. Celtic did all the damage in the second half opening the scoring early in the period when Chris Doncell shot home. At 1-0 anything could happen but once they went 2-0 up it was a lead that they were not going to let slip. The St Joseph ’s keeper made a good save, turning the ball out for a corner and when it was taken Brendan Lyne got on the end of it put Celtic within touching distance of the quarter finals.

The icing was put on the cake when John Fintan Daly, who also scored in the last round, got on the end of a through ball, his pace beat the defender and goalkeeper and he wrapped up the scoring and booked Killarney Celtic a trip to St Kevin’s Boys in Dublin in the last eight.

Reports:

National Cup Under 15 – Last 16:

Kingdom Boys 2-0 Home Farm:

Kingdom Boys under 15’s march on into the last eight of this year’s Under 15 National Cup following this comfortable 2-0 win over Home Farm. The home side certainly were quick out of the blocks and forced a corner within two minutes. However they had to wait until the 15th minute to make the vital breakthrough. Aaron Houlihan, who was to prove a handful all day from set pieces floated a free kick into the Home Farm box and when Darragh O’Brien knocked it down Ian McCarthy was on hand to hook a superb volley to the roof of the net.

Indeed Kingdom Boys could be 2-0 up a couple of minutes later when Dara O’Brien was again up with the attack and when Adam Piggott back-heeled the ball he struck a shot that looked to be heading for the top corner of the net but Home Farm keeper Greg Murray dived full length to his left to keep it out.

Home Farm did come into the game a little in the second quarter and were getting a little more room that the Kingdom Boys management will have liked in the middle of the field but they rarely threatened Owen Crean in the goal.

Kingdom Boys started the second half as they did the first and within minutes Darren O’Brien, Darragh O’Brien and Uros Ivkovic all came close.

It was the fifteenth minute again when the damage was done and the game was over as a contest. A great corner from Houlihan was knocked on by Ian McCarthy and Adam Piggott was on hand this time to score.

For the rest of the game Kingdom Boys were in control and keeper Owen Crean came within a whisker of an amazing goal which would have made it 3-0. With all the Home Farm players including the keeper pushed forward for a corner Crean caught the ball and launched a massive kick that looked like going all the way to the net but in fairness to Paddy Seerey he chased all the way back and just prevented the ball rolling over the line.

This was the last action of the day on which the Tralee sides back four were the pick of the players never putting a foot wrong all game.

Kingdom Boys can now start planning for a home quarter final against Mervue from Galway, the stage of the competition that has seen them going out in the past few seasons. However there is belief in this side that this could be their year and with improvement in one or two areas they could go all the way.

Under 11 Cup: 25 teams entered the Under 11 Cup which shows the strength of schoolboys soccer in Kerry at the moment so 18 teams faced went head to head in the first round to join the remaining nine in the last 16.

Camp (Owen Curry, Maurice Slattery and Jack Nix 2 each and Fiachra Geary) were 7-2 winner over Mastergeeha from whom David Gleeson scored twice.

Castleisland, a non league side at this age did very well for three quarters of their game against the much more experienced Kingdom Boys and were only 2-1 down entering into the last quarter. Ethan O’Connor got the Castleisland goal while Reen O’Connor got 2 and Danny Kinsella, Ferdie O’Brien and Lorcan Foley all scored for the Tralee side.

Fenit B, with a hat trick from Bobby O’Regan and one from Oisin O’Brien got past Listowel Celtic C while Inter B saw off Killarney Celtic B 4-2. Jordan White 2, Sean Casey and Tom Gudgeon were on the mark for Inter while Danny Cotter from the penalty spot and an og were Celtic’s score.

Killarney Athletic B were 3-0 winners over Killarney Celtic C who entered three teams such are the numbers playing for the Hoops.

Killarney Athletic’s A side are also into the next round. They had Dylan O’Sullivan, Michael Casey, Adam O’Shea and Ronan Sweeney among their goals as they saw off Kingdom Boys B.

Fenit A were 6-3 winners over Iveragh United with Ryan Dolan getting a hat trick and Dave Murphy, Mark Williams and Cian McGarry all scoring.

St Brendan’s Park will have three teams in the hat for the next round as their A and B sides both progressed.

The B’s were too strong for Killorglin A. Padraig O’Brien scored for Killorglin but goals from Danny O’Reilly getting two and one each from Oisin Fitzgerald, Stephen Lowth, Josh Loucher and Padraig Griffin saw the through. For good measure Padraig O’Connor, in The Park goal saved a penalty.

The Park A’s saw off Killorglin B 9-1 with Sean Dukes getting a hat trick, Sean Fitzgerald and Murrough Connolly getting two and Christopher Lee and Jessie Stafford Lacey all scoring.

Under 12 Cup: Killorglin booked their place in the with an easy win over Killarney Celtic B. Daniel McBeth, Jonathan Coffey, Gavin O’Riordan, Liam Carey, Paudie McMahon, John Tyther and Liam Tyther who was scoring his first ever goal were all on the mark.

Under 13 Cup: Killarney Celtic’s two teams were drawn against each other in the first round and as expected the A’s won with Ryan O’Connon 3, Dara Roche and COnor Keane among the goals.

Killorglin defeated Inter Kenmare 1-0 while Killarney Athletic travelled to Listowel Celtic and best their B team 2-1. Cathal Kearney got the Listowel goal.

The Park A (George Craneige, Jack Savage, Roman Loucher and Greg Horan, were 4-2 winners over Clanmaurice while the Park B (Ryan Keeley) went down 4-1 to Camp whose goals came from Jonathan Deane, Kian Kennedy and Brandon Hoare 2.

Mastergeeha had goals from Matthew Keane and Damien Breen but it wasn’t enough as Kevin Bowler 2, Aaron Farrell and Sean Gilbert scored to put Listowel Celtic A through.

Under 13 Premier: There was one game in the League at this age group with Castleisland defeating Kingdom Boys 5-1. Jack Cooney helped himself to a hat trick with Shane O’Connor getting the other two.

Under 14 Cup: Killorglin 5-1 Clanmaurice: Brian Carney, Cormac o’Connor and Gary O’Shea all scored as Killorglin went into the hat for the next round.

Under 15 Cup: Killarney Athletic were 4-1 winners over Listowel Celtic (Darragh Kennelly) and progress to the second round. The Athletic scorers were Jeff O’Donoghue, Ronan Murphy, Jack O’Connor and Brian O’Shea.

Killarney Celtic and Fenit drew 1-1 and as extra time wasn’t played this one will go to the Committee room for a decision as to what happens next.

Mastergeeha had a good 5-0 win away to Kingdom Boys B. Padraig Nagle, Jamie Spillane, Mark Reen, Padraig Collins and Noel Duggan all scored.

Park A beat their team mates 5-0 with Aaron Eager, Danny Roche and a Stephen Knightly hat trick seeing them through.

Under 15 Div 1:   Dingle Bay Rovers 0-2 Camp: With this win Camp move level with Listowel Celtic at the top of the table on 18 points though they now have one game extra played. Adam O’Donnell got both the Camp scores.

Under 16 National Cup Last 32: Killarney Celtic 2-4 Kingdom Boys AET.

The Kingdom Boys under 16 team gave the club the perfect end to a memorable week which started with the u15’s reaching the last 16 of their National Cup and continued with Tralee Dynamos A Championship launch mid week.

In this game Kingdom Boys were pushed all the way and it wasn’t until extra time that they clinched their in the last 16 where they now face Corinthian’s from Cork.

Celtic started well with Chris Brady and Robert Watson causing the Tralee side a lot of problems. Indeed we almost witness one of the best goals scored at Celtic Park when Chris Davis, Robert Watson and Chris Brady all combined with a one touch move that ended with Brady just putting his volley on the wrong side of the post.

Celtic got their reward in the 21st minute when Chris Brady crossed and Chris Brady was able to poke the ball past a stranded Barry Galvin.

However the Tralee side were level before the break when Scott Monaghan squeezed the ball home from a tight angle.

Into the second half and Kingdom Boys were on top and in truth should have gone 3-1 up when Darren O’Sullivan went one on one with the keeper but David Gleeson did very well to deny him.

However one minute later he was powerless to stop Diarmuid Lee who picked up the ball outside the box and shot home across the Celtic keeper to put them 2-1 ahead.

But their lead only lasted two minutes. Terrance Moriarty pickled up the ball and ran at the heart of the Kingdom Boys defence before being taken down. David O’Sullivan stepped up to level up the game.

Celtic had the better chances to win the game in the closing minutes Tadgh Moore’s glancing header went agonisingly wide.

Into extra time and here Kingdom Boys showed their class and took all the opportunities that they got with Adam Piggott setting up Darren O’Brien for their third At the end of the first period and Adam himself netting the fourth in the first minute of the second period. In this passage of play Celtic keeper David Gleeson took a totally accidental blow to the head and the game was held up for twenty minutes. Everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.

After the delay the game petered out with Kingdom Boys happy to hold what they had and march into the last 16 in Ireland alongside their under 15 team. This is a great achievement for all those associated with both teams.

Under 12 National Cup: Killarney Celtic 2-0 Ballyoulster:

There was much better news for Killarney Celtic at under 12 level when they qualified for the last 16 of their National Cup. They defeated their Kildare opposition 2-0 with both goals coming from Darren O’Doherty.

Celtic were the better side and were very tight at the back. They welcomed Shane Ryan back into goal following a long injury and he was very assured as were his defenders, especially Donal Lyne.

Up front they had chances in the first half but couldn’t get the break through. All that changed five minutes into the second period when Darren O’Doherty got on the end of a long ball from Lyne and coolly slipped the ball under the keeper, who tried his best to get back but couldn’t prevent the ball from dribbling into the net.

O’Doherty wrapped things up 6 minutes later with a great shot to send Celtic into the last 16 and a clash with St Joseph ’s from Galway .

St Brendan’s Park 0 – 4 Crumlin: This was the proverbial game of two halves, with the Park having the wind in the first half but they were unable to make the break through, in a scoreless period. However after the break Crumlin had the strong wind at their back and made the Park play running out 4-0 winners.

Cup competition:

Under 12 Cup: There was one first round game played in this competition and it was Ballyhar who came out on top defeating Park b2) 4-0 to move into the second round.

James O’Donoghue got 2 with Kieran Brosnan and Oisin Coghlan getting the others.

Under 14 Cup: Camp, Killarney Athletic and Killarney Celtic all move into the second round. Camp were 5-2 winners over St Bernard’s and had goals from Jonathan Deane 2, Sam Moriarty, Juno Boland and Sean Kennedy.

Killarney Athletic had goals from Ronan Murphy 2, and Cathal Murphy in their 3-1 over Mastergeeha.

The Park were 5-1 winners in Ballyhar. For the home side David King got the consolation but goals from Tomas Ziga, Greg Horan, Brendan Evans and Aaron Eager put the Tralee side into the hat for the next round.

Killarney Celtic were too strong for Dingle Bay running out 8-0 winners. Conor Keane and Scott O’Mahoney got tow each with John Moriarty, Gary O’Sullivan, Dara Roche and Wayne Sparling all getting one each.

Under 12 Div 1: Camp 3-3 Mastergeeha:

Both sides will be happy enough with a point here but Mathew Keane will probably be a little disappointed as he got all three goals for Mastergeeha.

Hughie O’Brien got two and Brandon Hoare the other for Camp.

Under 12 Premier:

Killarney Athletic made the long trip to Listowel Celtic a profitable one coming away with all three points. Adam O’Rourke scored for the home side but goals from Danny Healy and Jordan Kiely sees Athletic move into second place, leapfrogging Inter Kenmare who didn’t play.

Under 16 Premier:

Iveragh United 5-0 Inter Kenmare. Iveragh United moved into second place, although they have played more games than those around them following this win played during the week under lights. Boize Keating lead the scoring with two and Chris Farrelly, Dan Daly and Oran Clifford got the others.

Park 10- 3 Castleisland:

The Park move into third place following this win over a below strength Castleisland side who tried hard. Sean Brosnan got two of their goals with Mike Hannafin getting the other. Bill Mullins was on fire for the Park netting four, Kieran Murphy got three, Graham O’Leary 2 and Sean Weir the last.

Girls League: Under 13:There is no stopping Listowel Celtic in this age group and are now eight wins from eight game. Once again Savanah McCarthy was the star netting five, Lauren Flavin and Roisin Doyle got two each and Rebecca Harrington getting the other.

Killarney Athletic 0-3 Inter Kenmare: Goals from Lalya O’Mahoney, Rachael Topham and Aoife O’Shea gave Kenmare the points and allows them to close on those above them.

Girls Under 17 League Final:

The first silverware of the 2008/09 season in the Kerry Schoolgirls League was picked up by Ballyhar as they defeated Killarney Celtic 2-0. Emma Sherwood was the hero netting twice.

Team of the Week:

                                                   Fionn Coakley
                                                         Camp

Cian O’Lioanrd        Ian McCarthy        Donal Lyne

Kerry Schoolboys even Ages Week 21 2008 / 09
Reports by Padraig Hartnett - K.S.B.L

Under 12 Nat Cup: Killarney Celtic 1- 0 Aisling Annacotty, St Brendan’s Park 4 – 2 Avenue.

Under 14 Nat Cup:  Killarney Celtic 0 – 3 Caherdavin.

Under 12 National Cup:Kerry last two representatives are still going strong in the National Cup and are now into the last 32. Killarney Celtic got the better of Aisling Annacotty 1-0 with the goal coming from Liam Kearney, direct from a superb free kick. At the other end Celtic were thankful to his cousin David Kearney who was superb between the posts.

Killarney Celtic are now at home to DDSL side Ballyouster United in what will be a tough game. However no side will relish the trip to Celtic Park so hopefully they can continue this great run.

St Brendan’s Park 4-2 Avenue: Avenue are one of the top sides in Clare and weren’t afraid to come to Tralee to take on The Park. But this is a very good Park side and the game lived up to its billing. The home side went ahead inside five minutes through George Carneige. Avenue levelled before half time. The second period was similar with The Park going back in front through Jessie O’Sullivan but Avenue again fought back and equalised just before full time.

Into extra time and things were still deadlocked after the first period but into the second period and The Park showed their class scoring twice more – through Gavin O’Brien and the prolific Jessie who got his second of the day to wrap things up. The Park now welcome Schoolboy hotshots Crumlin United to Tralee in the next 32 for what should be a cracker and again we all hope The Park can move forward and who knows a Park v Celtic clash later in the competition!

Under 14 National Cup: Killarney Celtic’s run in this season’s National Cup came to an end going down 3-0 to Caherdavin. There was only one goal in it for the majority of the game but with Celtic chasing an equaliser Caherdavin broke away to score two late goals.

Under 12 Premier: Inter Kenmare 2-1 Killarney Athletic

Under 12 Premier: Inter Kenmare 2-1 Killarney Athletic. Two goals from Fionnan O’Sullivan were enough to see Inter pick up the three points and move into second place in the table on 10 points but they have played more games than those around them.

Under 12 Div 1:Dingle Bay Rovers are unbeaten in eight games and sit proudly top of the table and were this week too strong for Kingdom Boys winning 8-1. There was a brace of goals from Mathew Flaherty, Garrett Brosnan and Cathal Banbury and one each for the two O’Sullivans – Tom and Barry.

For Kingdom Boys Darren O’Neill got the consolation.

Killorglin move into second place following their 1-0 win over Mastergeeha and now sit on 18 points after 7 played. They leapfrogged Fenit who didn’t play and stay on 16 points.

Under 14 Premier: Killarney Athletic sit top of the table here and kept up their title chase with a 2-0 win away to Listowel Celtic. Kimfula and Ronan Murphy were both on the mark.

Under 14 Div 1:The Park close the gap to Kenmare to three points and have a game in hand following their 7-1 win over Killorglin. Six players scored to show how well the Park are playing and they were Conor Jordan, Tomas Ziga, Greg Horan, Brandon Evans, Aaron Eager and Thomas O’Brien who netted twice.

Third placed Dingle were well beaten at home by a very happy St Bernards side who were delighted to take the three points home from the West. Danny Collins was the top scorer hitting 4 with Dougie Fitzell, Stephen Egan, Sean O’Mahoney and Garry Nealon getting the others. For Dingle Shane Houlihan netted a hat-trick but unfortunately for him it didn’t count for much.

Fenit were another side to go on the road and take home the points following their trip to Camp. Jonathan Deane and Rory Cheevers got the goals for the home side but a Brendan O’Connor hat-trick and one each from Donnacha McGarry (who netted from the penalty spot after five minutes) and Killian Fitzgerald gave Fenit three much needed points.

Ballyhar also picked up three points with their 4-0 win over Ballyhar with Owen Sheehan, Garroid Coghlan and Fergal Hallissey (2) getting on the mark.

Under 16 Premier: With the leaders at the start of the day, Killarney Athletic on 13 points, not playing teams close to them were hoping to take advantage. Listowel Celtic did just that and now move three points ahead of Athletic after defeating Inter Kenmare 5-1. Tommy Griffin got 2 and Jason McCarthy, Dara Kennelly and Eddie Joy Walsh got one each.

Killarney Celtic moved into second place and are now on 15 points following an easy win over Asdee. Celtic had goals from Ciaran Lyne, James Walsh and two from Chris Brady while Rob Watson topped the scoring charts netting a hat-trick.

Kingdom Boys are now in third place, on 13 points, after they defeated Kingdom Boys 3-0. For the Tralee side Darren O’Brien got two and Sean O’Reilly got the other.

Iveragh United are enjoying a very successful debut season and picked up another three points to move onto 11 points after they won 2-0 in Fenit. Oran Clifford and Boyze Kealy were on the mark for the South Kerry side.

The Park also picked up three points and are now on 10 points and have games in hand on those around them. A Bill Mullins hat trick and one each from Graham O’Leary and Shane Callaghan gave them the points.

Girls League: Girls Under 13’s Mastergeeha 8-2 Killarney Athletic. Mastergeeha move into second place and close the gap on Listowel Celtic following this win with Sinead Nagle, Aisling Coffey, Nicola Hughues, Joanne Healy and Christine Buckley among the goals.

Seven of the Best – plus two to go:

After this round of National Cup games, at even ages, Kerry has seven teams left in the draw, with Listowel to play Caherdavin at under 14 and Camp to pay Tulla Utd in fixtures to be rearranged.

All of these teams go into the last 8 in the Munster section, just one win away from the last 32 in the country.

Under 12 National Cup: At under 12 level Asdee’s run came to an end with a defeat to Kilmallock 1-6. Niall O’Dowd got the goal for Asdee. Listowel Celtic also went out going down 3-0 to Avenue Utd. They were unfortunate as the score was 0-0 with 12 minutes to go before they went a goal down. They then pushed for the equaliser but were caught on the break.

In the all Kerry clash Killarney Athletic defeated Kingdom Boys 3-2. Terry Mustafi and Kevin O’Shea got the goals for the Tralee side but it is the Killarney team that are into the next round following two goals from David Sheerin and one from Danny Healy. Killarney Celtic had a great 1-0 win away in Limerick defeating Fairview Rangers. Chris Doncell got the goal for Celtic who can be thankful to Liam Kearney in goal who saved a penalty late in the game.

The tightest game was between The Park and Nenagh which finished 2-2 after full time with The Park going through 4-2 after extra time. Their goals came from Roman Laucher, Gavin O’Brien and two from Jessie O’Sullivan.

Under 14 National Cup: Kerry side went two from two in this section with Killarney Celtic and Kingdom Boys having easy wins – Celtic 9-1 over St Bernard’s and K Boys 7-0 winners over Ballymackey. For Killarney Celtic Kieran Murphy, Scott O’Mahoney and Alan Brosnan got two each with Brendan Ashe, Wayne Sparling and Conor Keane getting one each.

For Kingdom Boys Sean Moloney, Niall Sheehy, Wayne Duggan and Darragh Carmody were amongst the goals.

Under 16 National Cup: Again it was the same story here with Killarney Celtic and Kingdom Boys again going through although Kingdom Boys had a much tougher time at this age group. Killarney Celtic defeated Adare 7-1 woth Robert Watson putting them 1-0 up before Adare equalised. However that was as close as they came with Watson adding another and Chris Davies and Brady both scoring twice before half time.

Brendan Falvey added two more in the second half.

Kingdom Boys defeated Broadford United 2-1. This was a great game with the sides still scoreless after 60 minutes. The Tralee side took the lead when a Broadford defender handles a Dara O’Brien free kick and Uros Ivkovic netted from the spot.

Broadford equalised, also from the penalty spot, after keeper Barry Galvin took down Coughlin inside the box and Brosnan put away the spot kick.

It looked to be heading for extra time but Darren O’Brien had other ideas heading home a Dara O’Brien free kick to put Kingdom Boys into the hat.

League Roundup:

Under 12 Premier: Ballyhar and Inter Kenmare drew 1-1 in the only Premier game played. Kieran Brosnan put Ballyhar ahead with Killian Spillane equalising.

Under 12 Div 1:Top side Dingle Bay Rvs made it six league wins from six defeating Camp 2-1, in Camp to top the table.  Liam Brosnan put the away side ahead and Garrett Hickey Brosnan doubled their advantage. Brandon Hoare pulled one back but they ran out time as they tried for an equaliser.

Killarney Celtic B put up a good performance before going down to Fenit, who now move into second spot, overtaking Killorglin who didn’t play. Gary Hannafin, Fiachra Griffin, Fionn Griffin, Denis Cosgrove and Des McCarthy were on the mark for Fenit.

Mastergeeha had a big win over the gallant Listowel Celtic B side to move onto ten points and close the gap on the top three.

Philip Casey and Matthew Keane both got hat tricks with John O’Donoghue, Chris Keane and Gearoid Kerins also on the mark.

Darius Barry pulled back one for Listowel but it was only a consolation.

Under 14 Div 1;Only two games survived the ‘big freeze’ here with Inter Kenmare taking advantage and moving to the top of the table, defeating Ballyhar 3-0. Brian Clifford got two and Johnnie O’Brien netted the other.

Camp had a five star performance from Jonathan Deane who scored five in their 8-3 win away to Killorglin. Twins Joey and Juno Boland got one each with Fintan Herlihy getting the other. For Killorglin Cormac O’Connor got two and Conor Healy got the other.

Girls Under 13;Listowel Celtic are unbeaten in six games now and in this win over The Park had golas from Niamh Carmody, Lauren Flavin, Rebecca Horgan and Savanah McCarthy.

Killarney Celtic and Mastergeeha are chasing them and this weekend Celtic beat neighbours with goals from Olivia Dawson and Lucy Lyne among others. Mastergeeha and Inter Kenmare had a good battle with the home side getting the points following their 2-1 win. Aisling Coffey got Mastergeeha two with Lalya O’Mahoney replying for Inter.

their 6th win frm 6 in the League. Michael Flannery got two with Mike O'Connor, Liam Brosnan, Colm Greaney
and Morgan Moriarty netting one each. Killorglin are keeping up thr pressure on the leaders following their 2-1 win over
Kingdom Boys. Brian O'Connell got their goal for the Tralee side but a brace from Tommy Cahill gave Killorglin all three points.
Fenit are also well in thr hunt for division honours and defeated Camp 2-1 at the weekend. Fionn Griffin and Denis Cosgrave
were the scorers with Aidan Cox getting the Camp score.
Further down the division there were two draws with the Park B and Clanmaurice sharing six goals. Jasmin Gheorghe, Brian Hill and Fionn
Kavanagh were the Tralee side's scoreresw while in the other game Killarney Celtic B and Asdee played out a rare scoreline in the Kerry Schoolboys
League of 0-0.

Under 12 Premier:
Killarney Athletic 1-2 Killarney Celtic was the big result in this division, allowing the league leaders Celtic to pull a further three points clear of The Park
who didnt play. Daniel O'Donoghue put Celtic ahead but this was cancelled out by a Jordan Kiely equaliser. It looked to be heading for a draw but hot-shot striker
Darren O'Doherty had other ideas and was on hand to knock in the winner and so give the Hoops all three points.
Inter Kenmare gave themselves a much needed win defeating Listowel Celtic 1-0 at home with Fionan O'Sullivan netting the only goal of the game.

Under 14 Div 1
This is turning into a real battle between three teams with the Park just leading the way from Inter Kenmare and Dingle who are tied in 2nd place on 13 points, two
behind the leaders. The Park defeated St Bernards 3-1 with thier goals coming from Thomas Ziega, Brendan Flavn and Greg Horan from thr penalty spot. However
they were grateful to Pa Fitzgibbon in goal for a string of saves including a number of one on ones. His display was all the better considering he has been out for
a number of weeks with injury.
Inter won on the road, away to Fenit 3-1. They had Brian Corcoran, Brian Crowley and Steven O'Sullivan on target while Donnacha McGarry got thr Fenit goal.
Dingle were too good for Killorglin winning 4-0 against Ballyhar. Rowan Copeland, Aidan Finn, Jonathan Deane and Fintsn Herlihy were all on target.

Under 14 Prem
Kingdom Boys contiune to top the table here after recording their 5th win in 6 games when they defeated Clanmaurice 3-1. Killarney Athletic put six past Mastergeeha
to close the gap at the top of the table to three points and they have a game in hand. Jack O'Connor led the scoring charts with a hat trick woth Ronan Murphy, Conor Moriarty
and Kimfula getting the others. Killarney Celtic might consider their 3-3 draw with Listowel two points dropped but they have games in hand on those above them and are only two points
behind neighbours Athletic.

Under 16 Premier:
Two points seperate five teams in thiws division. Its a Celtic one-two at the top with both Listowel and Killarney on 13 points - albeit with Listwel playing two games fewer.
Both teams scored five with Listowel defeating Clanmauirce following goals from Brian Murphy, Kieran O'Connor, Jonathan McCoy in the first half and two more in the second half from Jamie Barry and Dara Kennelly.

Camp bowed out going down 2-1 to Kilmallock with Ed Cox netting for the Kerry side.

However there was much better news for Kingdom Boys who defeated Ardcroney 4-1. Sean O’Brien and Argent Ashanti got one each while Ronan O’Connor got the other two.

The Park A also went through 2-0 over Ferns Celtic with Roman Laucher and Cian Sheirdan scoring.

Kingdom Boys and the Park join Killarney Athletic and Celtic and Listowel Celtic in the next round.

National Cup Under 14: St. Nick brings presents to St Bernard’s! Aisling Annacotty defeated Inter Kenmare 3-2 with Brian Clifford getting the two goals however the big winners of the day were St. Bernard’s who defeated Templemore 2-0. The North Kerry side are really enjoying the National Cup adventure and join Kingdom Boys and the two Celtic’s, Killarney and Listowel, in the next round. St Bernard’s goals came from Sean O’Mahoney and Thomas McElligott.

Under 15 National Cup: Camp 3-3 Regional United (Regional win 3-0 on pens) There was heartbreak for Camp as they went out in the cruellest manner, going down 3-0 on penalties. James Crean, Patrick Travers and Jamie Quirke scored for Camp but it was not enough. However Kerry are still well represented with Killarney Athletic, Fenit, Kingdom Boys A and Killarney Celtic already into the next round.

Under 16 National Cup: In the all Kerry clash Kingdom Boys defeated Inter Kenmare 3-1. Stephen Burke, Scott Monaghan and Darren O’Brien were all on the mark for the Tralee side while Kieran O’Neill got the only goal for Inter. However Listowel Celtic drew 1-1 against Broadford after extra time but they went down 4-3 on penalties. Brian Murphy was the Listowel Celtic scorer.

Under 11 Premier: St Brendan’s Park had a good 5-0 win away in Ballyhar to move onto 12 points, level with Listowel and Killarney Celtic at the top of the division. James Duggan was the big scorer netting a hat-trick with Sean Fitzpatrick and Murrough Connolly getting the other two.

Killoglin went down 1-5 to Killarney Athletic and they are now on 9 points just behind the top three. Caoilte Purcell got the Killorglin consolation but with goals from Dylan O’Sullivan (2), Jack Lenihan, Ronan Buckley and Michael Casey Killarney Athletic took all three points.

Under 13 Div 1: Killorglin continued to top this division defeating Listowel Celtic 3-0. They now sit on 12 points ahead of Inter, Camp and Clanmaurice. Listowel were best served by Luke O’Donnell who was making his debut at centre back. Clanmaurice defeated The Park 8-1 in the other game.

Under 13 Premier: Dingle Bay Rvs suffered a surprise defeat to Mastergeeha going down 2-7. Brian O’Sullivan and Cathal Bambury got the goals for the West Kerry side. However Mastergeeha were on fire with Damien Breen on top form netting three. Mathew Keane and Sean O’Sullivan netted two each.

The other game in this division saw Listowel Celtic and Castleisland share the points in a six goal thriller. Dean Moloney, Sean Gilbert and Kevin Bowler scored for the home side while Kevin Hanafin got two and Colm Murphy got the third for Castleisland.

Under 15 Premier: If there was one division to watch in the New Year it will be this one with Mastergeeha, Kingdom Boys, Killarney Celtic and Killarney Athletic all on nine points. Brian O’Shea got two and Jason Ahern one for Athletic who defeated Fenit 3-1 (Brian Fitzgerald) in the only game played in this division this week.

Under 16 Premier: Asdee 1- 4 Iveragh:  Sean Delaney got the only goal for Asdee from the penalty spot but it wasn’t enough to stop the ever improving Iveragh United side winning 4-1. Floren Kerins, James and Liam Stapleton and Mikey O’Sullivan were all on the mark for the South Kerry side.

Girls League: Under 13 Girls – Park 1-9 Listowel Celtic: The Listowel Celtic conveyer belt of talent keeps on going with the latest talent Niamh Carmody netting four goals on her debut. The other scorers were Lauren Flavin, Savanah McCarthy, Rebecca Horgan, Robin Doyle and Lee Ann Mangan.

Shannon Carey scored for the Park who tried hard throughout the whole game.

With the first snow of the season a number of clubs experienced the chill of going out of the National Cup while other bask in the glow of the next round!

In the Under 12 National Cup Ballyhar went done following a very close contest with Corbally They went 1-0 down before Sean Moloney equalised but it was enough as they went out 2-1

The Park B also went out but can be proud of giving top Limerick side Fairview Rangers a good battle. Indeed it was 0-0 until after the break when Fairview went in front and then ran out 4-0 winners

However there was much better new for the other three Kerry clubs involved. Killarney Athletic travelled to Kilcoran and came away easy 7-1 winners. Jordan Kiely netted himself a hat-trick, David Healy got two and there was one each from Daniel Sheerin and John O’Leary.

Killarney Celtic got the better of their neighbours Mastergeeha 6-0 with goals from Darren O’Doherty (2), Michael Burns, Liam Kearney and Fergal O’Donoghue plus an O.G.

Listowel Celtic were at home to Glenview and also won 6-0 to go into the hat for the next round. Joe Joe Grimes was the top scorer here with 3 while Padraig O’Neill, Aidan Quinn and Adam O’Rourke all got one each.

The two Celtic’s are also through with Killarney Celtic winning 4-0 at home to Holycross (Craig Hickey 2, Liam O’Sullivan and Conor Keane) while Listowel Celtic were in a closer battle winning 3-2 at home to Connolly Celtic There goals came from Chris Breen, Michael Stack and Patrick O’Keeffe.

A Jack O’Connor hat trick was not enough for Killarney Athletic who went out 5-3 to Charleville while Mastergeeha went down away 3-0 to Killmallock.

Dingle Bay Rovers were the unlucky team going out in extra time 2-1 to Ardcroney. Shane Houlihan got the goal for the West Kerry side.

Under 16 National Cup:Killarney Celtic had a hat trick from Robert Watson and one from Chris Davies in a 4-1 win at home to Murroe while Killarney Athletic had to go to extra time in their 5-3 win away to Nenagh AFC. The Park are also through winning 5-0 at home to Creeves with two goals from Bill Mullins and Sean Weir and one from Nathan Murphy.

League Results: Under 16 League – Castleisland 1-2 Fenit: This was a good win on the road for Fenit played on a wet pitch. It moves Fenit level with Castleisland on seven points in joint third place. Sean Brosnan got the goal for the home side while Anthony Doyle and Colin Slattery were on the mark to give their side all three points.

Girls League: Under 11’s Killarney Athletic 6- 0 Killarney Celtic: This win put Athletic into a three way tie at the top of the division level with Listowel Celtic and Inter Kenmare.

Inter League: Limerick District 1 – 1 Kerry (Kerry 7-6 on pens): With the under 14 and under 16 county games falling foul of the weather it was left to  the youngest inter county team to carry the flag and they did so with a great result away in Limerick. Jordan Kiely put Kerry 1-0 up twenty minutes into the first half and they held the advantage until 10 minutes of the second period when Limerick Desmond drew level. Both sides defended very well for the rest of the game and neither side could make the breakthrough. In this competition penalties are then taken and banked until the result of the group pans out when the winners of the shoot-out are awarded the result. Kerry’s young debutants, who were playing their first game for the county held their nerve and Shane Ryan’s save gave the result 7-6.

This is a great debut for Stefan McMahon and his new management team and for the squad whose other group opponents will be Limerick County, North Tipp and South Tipp with only the top team qualifying for the Munster final so that penalty win could prove crucial yet.

Under 12 Div 1:The top two clashed in this division when Fenit travelled to joint second placed Killorglin and it was the home side that took the three points. Goals from Sean Kelliher 2, Daniel McBeth, Liam Carey moved Killorglin joint top of the table on twelve points. Gary Hannafin and Fiachra Griffin replied for Fenit who also had good performances from Cathal Rodgers and Cian McGarry but it wasn’t enough and they remain on ten points.

Dingle Bay were also on the road and their win over the Park has moved them onto twelve points as well. However they were pushed all the way after dominating the first half. Dingle Bay were 5-1 up by half time with goals from a Cathal Bambury hat-trick and two from Matthew Flatherty. Adam Barrett was the solitary scorer for the Park. However in the second half the Park came back strongly scoring three more – 2 from Danny Roche and one from Con Hewson. However they were just unable to pull level before time ran out.

Asdee will also be celebrating, even though they are at the other end of the table when they recoded their first win of the campaign defeating Listowel Celtic 8-0. Ryan Henry hit a hat-trick, to put a smile on his fathers, and manager’s face. Brian Wall got 2 and Dara Keane, Andrew Doherty and Kenneth Wall got the others.

Camp were 8-2 winners over Killarney Celtic B whose goals came from a John Murhill penalty and one from Thomas Hussey.

Camp, however, were much more productive on the day where their goals came from a hat-trick from Brandon Hoare, 2 each from Aidan Cox and John Joe Landers and one from Hughie O’Brien.

The final game in the division saw Kingdom Boys winning 3-1 at home to Clanmaurice and this gives them 11 points and into 3rd place in the division.

Under 12 Premier: All the top side won here with Killarney Celtic extending their unbeaten run to 5 games as they saw off Listowel Celtic 3-0 Liam Kearney, Conor Randall and John Fintan Daly were the Hoops scorers. Joint second placed team The Park and Killarney Athletic are still level on points in joint second following their wins over Inter Kenmare and Ballyhar respectively. The Park goals came from Jessie O’Sullivan and Ryan Carroll in their 2-1 win while Killarney Athletics Jordan Kiely got his perfect weekend off to an ideal start with a hat –trick (and he also scored for the County Under 12 team in their 1-1 draw). Sean McGrath and Ziaul Hoque were also on the mark for Athletic with Kieran Brosnan scoring for Ballyhar.

Under 14 National Cup:Inter Kenmare enjoyed a great 4-2 win after extra time away to Kilcoran, from the Limerick Desmond League. Brian Crowley scored in normal time and he got two more in the extra period which was added to by Dean Cassidy to put the Kenmare side into the next round. Unfortunately there was luck for Camp who went down 3-0 away to Clare side Connolly Celtic.

Under 14 Div 1:With top sides Park and Inter Kenmare not playing third placed side Dingle Bay Rvs showed that they will be there all the way to the end of the season and this weekend were 7-1 winners over Asdee. Michael Flannery was on fire getting four and the other three came from Dara Ryan, Dara O’Se and David Geaney.

In the other game Ballyhar and Fenit drew 0-0.

Under 16: At under 16 level Killarney Celtic remain unbeaten following their 5-0 win over Inter Kenmare and move to the top of the table on twelve points, ahead of Killarney Athletic and Listowel Celtic whose game was called off.

Goals from David McSweeney, Chris Davis, Chris Brady, Robert Watson and Ciaran O’Mahony gave the home side all the points in a game played under lights.

The Tralee derby finished all square 2-2 between The Park and Kingdom Boys who were 2-0 up at one stage. A Gary O’Leary penalty and a late late header from Diarmuid McGarry gave both sides a share of the points.

In the other under 16 game played a Luke Driscoll goal was not enough for Asdee who went down 3-1 to Clanmaurice.

Girls Under 11: Inter Kenmare and Listowel Celtic remained unbeaten following wins over Killarney Athletic and Killarney Cletic. For Inter Chloe Hawker, Denise Burns, Orla Randalls and Georgie Fitzpatrick were on the mark in a 4-0 win while Savanah McCarthy was the Listowel heroine netting another bagful.

Under 15 Girls – Killarney Celtic had a good win against Mastergeeha with their goals coming from Laura Kennelly, Lisa Griffin, Grainne Devane and Sinead Hoctor while on Sunday Listowel Celtic defeated Inter Kenmare 5-1. Megan Galvin got 2 with Caoimhe O’Sullivan, Norma O’Sullivan and Amy Giffin also on the mark.

Girls Under 17: Mastergeeha, with goals from Orla Burton, Tracy Coffey, Ciara Nagle and Ashling Coffey defeated Ballyhar 4-0.

National Cup Reports; Under 11 National Cup: In the all Kerry clash premier side Killarney Athletic beat division 1 side Park B 4- 0. Ryan Sweeney (2), Ronan Buckley and Adam O’Shea were on the mark. Killarney Celtic are also into the second round are Creeves gave them a walk over.

However there was no such good news for their Tralee neighbours as Kingdom Boys B went out 3-1 to Newcastlewest AFC and their A’s went down 4-1 or for Listowel Celtic B for whom a Colum Finnegan goal was not enough as they went down 3-1 to Cloughjordan. Fenit also went out losing 7-1 to Summerville.

Better news for Killorglin as they went through 3-1 at home to Geraldines. Padraig O’Brien, Andre O’Sullivan and Daniel Wittingham were on the mark for Killorglin.

Under 13 National Cup: There can be little debate as to the performance of the weekend with Listowel Celtic B winning away in Tipperary beating Arra Rovers. Manager Eddie Kennedy was flying out of the country in the afternoon so switched to an early kick-off an it paid dividends with Joe Coulson netting a hat trick and Liam O’Connor getting the other goal to put Listowel Celtic B into the second round.

No luck for Killarney Athletic as they went out to Kilmallock 3-1.Daniel O’Sullivan got the only goal for the Killarney side. In the all Kerry clash Mastergeeha went down to Listowel Celtic A despite a goal each for Damien and Derek Breen. Sean Farrell got two for Listowel while Michael Stack netted the winner.

Park A got a walk over from Puckane AFC who didn’t travel while the Park B also went into the second round without kicking a ball as St. Ita’s also didn’t field a team.

Geraldines got revenge for their under 11’s loss to Killorglin when they best their under 13 side 2-1. Kingdom Boys are also out losing 2-0 away to Herbertstown.

However there was good news in Kenmare when Inter went through 2-0 with goals from Fintan Kennedy and Radac Kovac

Under 15 National Cup: Killarney Celtic went into the next round when Lough Derg didn’t travel but Killorglin had to give a walk over to Askeaton. Kingdom Boys were big winners over Glenview with Adam Piggot showing his international class, closely followed by Darren O’Brien but their B team went out 4-1 away in Ennis.

Killarney Athletic will be happy with their performance and their 2-0 home win over Parkville . Their goals came from Jack O’Connor and Brian O’Shea.

Unfortunately the result was not the same for Listowel Celtic as they went down to a last minute goal in extra time away in Limerick to Park AFC. Goals from Damien O’Carroll and Tommy Griffin saw Listowel coming back from 2-0 down to send the game into extra time but they just then came up short.

Mastergeeha made the long trip to Nenagh and had a great 4-0 win with goals from Padraig Nagle, Gary O’Leary and two from Dara Jones.

Under 16 Nat Cup: Castleisland 2 – 5 Listowel Celtic: Castleisland put it up to Listowel Celtic for a lot of this re-arranged game. The home side went 1-0 and 2-1 ahead with both goals coming from Sean Brosnan. However Listowel Celtic management had words in the dressing room and goals from Kieran O’Connor and two each from Brian Murphy and Jamie Barry saw them through.

League Reports Under 11 Premier: With the top two teams, Killarney Celtic and Park not playing Listowel Celtic took the opportunity to move into joint top spot alongside Killarney Celtic, with 4 wins from 4. Kieran Lynch put Celtic 1-0 up in the first half and he got a second in the second period which was added to by goals from Owen Ross, Brian O’Sheanachain

In the other game Inter Kenmare took a good point away to Ballyhar. Indeed they were 2-0 up at half time with both goals coming from Pat Spillane but in the second half two James O’Conner goals evened things up and gave each side a share of the points.

Under 11 Div 1: Killorglin B picked up their first points of the season with a 3-0 win over Inter Kenmare B. Liam Foley got 2 and Neil Cronin the other.

The Park b2) needed a late late winner to get over Killarney Celtic. Hubert (one of those players who goes by one name!) and Dion Marcus scored for the away side while Shane Lowth got two for the Park and John Carroll got the late winner.

Amazingly all these teams stared the day on three points, chasing the Park A so these wins were important in the context of the league table.

Under 13 Premier: Dingle Bay Rvs had a big 4-2 win over Killarney Celtic (with both sides wishing Killarney Celtic manager Packie O’Connor a quick recovery from his recent illness). It was 1-1 at half time with Cathal Sheehy and Liam Crensher sharing the goals. Celtic then went 2-1 up through Conor Keane and held the advantage until eight minutes to go. Dingle finished very strongly and goals from Cathal Bambury, Colm Herlihy from the penalty spot and Alan Kennedy gave them the three points.

The Park A and Castleisland shared the spoils 1-1 (Jack Savage and Shane O’Connor) which sees the Tralee side close the gap at the top to 2 points.

Under 13 Div 1: Killarney Celtic B 1 – 5 Clanmaurice This was a good win for the away side who were picking up their first three points of the season. Joe Diggins set them on their way with two goals which was followed by goals from Mikey Rochford, Jason Wallace and Paudie O’Connor. John Fintan Daly got the consolation for Killarney Celtic.

Under 15 Premier: Fenit 1 – 2 Inter Kenmare: Both of these sides have struggled in the league so far so Inter will be happy to take the three points. Brian Fitzgerald got the goal for the home side but goals from Brian Crowley and Niall O’Sullivan gave Inter all three points.

Under 15 Div 1: Park B 0 – 4 Park A:  The B side was always going to be up against it when the met their club counterparts in the A side and so it proved. Ryan Sheehy, Mike Gallagher, Aaron Eager and Luke O’Keeffe gave the A side the three points and moved them into joint second place with Camp, just three points behind Listowel Celtic.

Girls League: Under 13’s: Inter Kenmare and Listowel Celtic lead the way in this division. Inter beat Killarney Athletic 7-3 with an amazing double hat-trick from Lalya O’Mahony and one from Ellie Gudgeon. Listowel also got 7 in their win over Killarney Celtic. There goals came from LeaAnne Mangan (3), Savanah McCarthy (2) and one each from Lauren Flavin and Rebecca Horgan.

In the other game in this division Mastergeeha also scored 7 as they beat the Park 7-2. Sinead Nagle got 2 as did Asling Coffey and Nicola Hughes with Eiblish Leary getting the other goal.

For the home side Karl Mullins got three and Segun Deysle, Cathal Costello, Shane Loughlin and Dylan Burke with two were the other scorers.

Under 12 Premier:The Park, move into joint second place on six points, along side Listowel Celtic and Killarney Athletic, following this hard fought win over Ballyhar. Indeed they were a goal down at half time but turned it around in the second period with goals from George Carneige, William Hurley, Jessie O’Sullivan, Ryan Carroll and Cormac Coffey. James O’Donoghue got the Ballyhar score who also has an excellent performance from Stephen Moloney.

Under 16:Iveragh United continued their very good run and have taken 4 points from their last two games following this 2-0 win over Clanmaurice. Declan ‘Boycey’ Keating and James Stapleton got their two goals.Killarney Athletic, who are top of the table were held 1-1 at home to Camp. Ryan Carroll was on the mark for the Killarney side.

Kingdom Boys were too strong for a gallant Asdee side and had goals from Adam Piggott, Uros Ivkovic, Darren O’Brien, Donal O’Sullivan, Eoin Doyle, Scott Monaghan and Steven Walsh. This completed a very good week for Kingdom Boys under 16 who also beat Killarney Celtic 2-0 in mid week. In that game Stephen Burke and Darren O’Brien were on the mark.

Girls; In the under 11 league Killarney Athletic won the derby battle over neighbours Celtic 6-0 while in the under 15 Girls league Listowel Celtic were much too strong for an under strength Mastergeeha side. Christine Buckley got the goal for the away side who had another superb performance from Mirian Healy. The Listowel Celtic goals came from Amy Griffin (3), Alice Neville (2), and one each from Heather O’Rourke, Magan Galvin, Norma O’Sullivan and Holly White.

National Cup Reports:Under 12: Six Kerry teams made it through the first round of the National Cup. Asdee were 5-0 winners over Broadford with 2 from Brian Wall and one from Dara Keane, Killian Walsh and Andrew Doherty. Kingdom Boys were always expected to win the all Kerry clash against Listowel Celtic B and did so with Brian O’Connell, Stephen Birmingham and Reen O’Connor on the score sheet.

Listowel Celtic A were involved in a nine goal thriller and just came out on the right side 5-4. Joe Joe Grimes continued his good form netting a hat trick with Adam O’Rourke and John Neville getting the other two. Listowel went a goal ahead, before going 2-1 behind. They then went 4-2 up but were pulled back to 4-3 before O’Connor’s insurance goal.

Mastergeeha had a very good 4-1 win over Newmarket . They were 2-0 up at half time with Paul O’Riordan getting both. Into the second half and Matthew Keane made it 3-0 before Newmarket pulled one back from the penalty spot. Kevin Leader got the Mastergeeha 4th to make sure there was no Clare comeback.

Killarney Celtic travelled to Birdhill and were involved in a great struggle. They went 1-0 up through Michael Burns after five minutes but were pegged back by half time. Just as manager Dermot Lyne was thinking of extra time Paudie Clifford’s great run earned a corner. He took it himself and found the head of Darren O’Doherty who headed Celtic in front and as Birdhill chased the game Burns got his second three minutes into injury time to wrap things up.

The Park B were also on the road travelling to Mountshannon in Clare and came home 3-2 winners. Fionn Kavanagh scored one in each half but Montshannon pulled them back each time. Yasin Gheorghie was the Tralee side’s hero getting the winner very late on.

Unfortunately Fenit went down 2-3 to Nenagh. Ivan Parker and Fionn Griffin were on the mark for Fenit. Reports:

Mid –Week Games;

Under 11 Premier Killarney Athletic 1 – 3 Listowel Celtic Listowel Celtic travelled to Killarney for a mid week game and took all three points to add to the three they got in their opening game. Kieran Lynch put them 1-0 up early on and they were unlucky not to go two ahead shortly after when the same player shot narrowly wide. However they did make it 2-0 when Dale Mulvihill chipped the Athletic keeper from the edge of the box. Athletic pulled one back but when Mulvihill got onto the end of a Conor Horgan pass he again produced a wonderful chip to put his side 3-1 up and finish the game.

As well as the goal scorers Listowel had good performances from Kieran O’Connell in goal, who saved from the penalty spot and from Dara Sheehy, Brian O’Seanachain and Jason Foley.

Under 13 Premier; Castleisland 2 – 6 Park: The Park moved onto six points from two games following this game where they got off to the perfect start. Greg Horan had them 1-0 up inside four minutes. Thomas Ziga added a second before half time and went on to complete his hat-trick in the first twenty minutes of the second period. Jessie O’Sullivan made it four following a pass from man-of-the-match George Craige who also got on the score sheet netting the final goal.

Saturday: Under 12 Div 1: Fenit continue to top this division following their 8-1 win away to the Park B. They are now on seven points after three games. Ivan Parker is on fire this season and netted a hat-trick closely followed by the also in-form Denis Cosgrove who got two. Fionn Griffin, Denis McCarthy and Gary Hannafin got the others. Brian Hill got the Park consolation.

Killorglin are following closely behind, now on six points, following their 4-3 win over Camp. Hughie O’Brien got 2 and Brandon Hoare got the other for Camp.

The two Celtic’s drew 2-2 in Listowel. For the home side David O’Neill and Darren Meehan got the goals with Timmy Hussey and James Mundy netting for Killarney Celtic.

There was a rare result in the Kingdom Boys Mastergeeha game with neither side being able to score. The point moves Mastergeeha onto 5 points and keeps them well in the hunt.

Dingle Bay Rovers will be delighted with their 5-1 over Asdee. This was the first ever game for this team and a reflection on the great work being done at underage level in West Kerry. Matthew Flaherty netted a hat-trick with Morgan Moriarty and Cathal Bambury getting the other two. Brian Wall was on the mark for Asdee.

Under 12 Premier: The two Killarney sides lead the way in the early stages of this division. Killarney Celtic top the division on 9 points from three games following their 4-1 away win in Ballyhar. Two from Darren O’Doherty and one each from Daniel O’Donoghue and Brendan Lyne gave the Hoops the points. James O’Donoghue replied for the home side.

Killarney Athletic got the better of Listowel Celtic in a seven goal thriller in Woodlawn. Joe Joe Grimes put the away side ahead but two from Jordan Kiely put Athletic in front. Grimes got his second to equalise but Kiely’s third and another from Johnny O’Leary put the home side 4-2 up. Conor Kennelly pulled on back late on for Listowel Celtic but it wasn’t enough.

Under 14 Div 1:The Park are joint top of this division and they were too good for a gallant Asdee side winning 7-1. Greg Horan and Ryan Downey put the Tralee side 2-0 up before the break and a Thomas McLoughlin hat-trick in the second period ensured they took all three points. Tomas Ziga and Jack Savage added two more. Danny Warrick got the Asdee goal.

Inter Kenmare joined them at the top on six points following their 7-2 away win in Killorglin. Lee Carey and Chris O’Shea got the home sides goals but with Brian Crowley getting a hat-trick, Shane O’Sullivan 2 and one each from Darren Clifford and Fintan Kennedy all scoring for Inter they took the points.

St Bernard’s and Fenit drew 1-1 with Daniel Collins netting for St Bernard’s and Donnacha McGarry equalising from the penalty spot. The point moves St. Bernard’s onto four points.

In the other game in this division Dingle Bay got their campaign off to a winning start defeating Camp 5-1. Mathew Flannery and Shane Houlihan got two each with Colin Sheehy getting the other.

Under 14 Premier: Killarney Celtic and Athletic are chasing Kingdom Boys in the early stages of this division. They over came Mastergeeha 3- 0 with the goals coming from Niall O’Riordan, Niall Sheehy and Sean Moloney.

Killarney Celtic were also 3-0 winners defeating Clanmaurice. Their goals came from Wayne Sparling, Craig Hickey from the penalty spot and Scott O’Mahoney while Killarney Athletic got the better of Listowel Celtic 3-1. Jack O’Connor, Jason Aherne and Diarmuid Galvin were all on the mark for the Killarney side.

Kingdom Boys have 9 points followed by the two Killarney sides on 6 points each.

Under 16: Iveragh United 1-5 Killarney Athletic; The dream didn’t have a happy ending but never the less it is great to see Iveragh United from Cahirciveen back in the Schoolboys League. There was a huge crowd at the game and they had a panel of 29 players, and were still missing a few. Eoin O’Sullivan got the Iveragh goal so that’s one for the history books. Two goals from Conor McGill and Thomas Moriarty and one from Nick Logiegia gave Athletic the point in a match played on a wonderful pitch. When they settle in Iveragh will make it difficult for a lot of teams.

Castleisland have strengthened their squad with the signing of players like Sean Daly from Mastergeeha. They were far too good for Asdee who tried hard but had no real answer, especially to Sean Brosnan who got eight. Denis Lenihan netted a hat-trick and Vinny Murphy scored the last. For Asdee Sean Dowling, Darren Russell, Kevin Fitzell and Peter Cook got the goals.

The Park were 5-1 winners away in Fenit with their goals coming from Graham O’Sullivan and Graham O’Leary got one each as did Aaron O’Sullivan, Shane Callaghan and Sean Weir.

Listowel Celtic sit at the top of the table and defeated Killarney Celtic 3-1 to move onto six points. Killarney were 1-0 up at the break through Chris Davis but goals from Mark Reen, Tommy Griffin and Jason Bowler gave the points to the home side.

Mastergeeha will be happy with their first outing in this division. They defeated the Park B 6-1. Under 14 Div 1: Asdee 5 -5 Killorglin: In other sports they have defensive coordinators and they could have used two here! They has keeper Mattie O’Connor for keeping them in the game as he made a number of saves.

For Killorglin Aran Gamble got two, Dylan Costello, Kian Healy and Alex Gardiner for the others.

Ballyhar 0 -4 Park; Both sides were playing their first game and for Ballyhar Cian Brown in goal and Joe O’Connor tried hardest but the Park, who proved they had strength in depth got the three points with goals from Arran Eager 2, Tomas Giza and Tom McLoughin whose twenty five yarder was a contender for goal of the day.

Killarney Athletic had a man of the match performance from Jack Lenihan and two goals from Dylan O’Sullivan and Conor Culloty to give them all three points against The Park for whom Sean Fitzmaurice.

Killorglin over came Camp in a goal-fest sharing nine between them. Camp were 4-0 up inside half an hour with two goals each from Maurice Slattery and Eoin Corry. Timmy Kennedy pulled one back and then Paddy Collins scored from the penalty spot to male it 4-2. However that was a close as Camp got. Jack Nix scored the goals of the game with a wonderful chip from the edge of the box and Jack O’Connor made sure there was to be no come back when he got the Killorglin sixth. Camp never gave up and Conor Counihan pulled another back from the penalty spot in the last minute.

Listowel Celtic were much to strong for a new Inter Kenmare side who are just starting out. There goal came Pat Spillane but they ran up against a Listowel Celtic side in top form. Kieran Lynch netted a hat trick with one goal each coming from Cian O’Mahoney, Dara Sheehy, Aidan Quinn, Owen Ross and Dale Mulvihill.

Under 11 Div 1:There were two games played in this division with Inter Kenmare B defeating Killarney Cletic B 2- 0 with goals from Jordan Walsh and Tom Gudgeon while Park B knocked 8 without reply past a young Killorglin B side.Among the scorers for The Park were Rory Hill, Louis Royale, Mark Beener and Paudie O’Connor.

Denis O’Sullivan put Athletic ahead before Jack Cooney equalised. Kieran Murphy again put the Killarney side ahead before debutant DJ Healy capped his first game for the club with the equaliser.

The Park, who will be one of the team to watch at this age picked up the three points when the defeated Listowel Celtic 3-1. Greg Horan and Ian Murphy swapped goals before half time but after the break it was The Park who took charge with goals from Tomas Vega, who scored following a strong run from midfield and Jack Savage, direct from a corner wrapping up the points.

Match Reports:

Under 12 Premier: Ballyhar, Killarney Athletic and Killarney Celtic all opened their league campaigns with wins. Ballyhar beat Listowel Celtic 2-1 with their both goals coming from Conor O’Leary. Joe Joe Grimes pulled one back for Listowel in the second half. Killarney Athletic had a 6-2 victory over Inter Kenmare who will be disappointed with the amount of chances they missed. Athletic on the other hand were red hot in front of goal and three players, Jordan Kiely, Caiman Mangan and Ziauel Hoque scored two goals each.

When the opening round of fixtures was made the game between Killarney Celtic and St Brendan’s Park stood out and the game didn’t disappoint. Ryan Carroll put the Tralee side one up before Chris Dauncell equalised before half time. The Park again went ahead in the second half when a George Carnige shot was parried and Jessie O’Sullivan showed once again his goal poacher tendency and knocked in the rebound. Celtic got back on level terms when Brendan Lyne played a great ball through to Darren O’Doherty who made no mistake. The same player got onto the end of a Liam Crencher free kick five minutes later to wrap up the points for Celtic. Both of these teams look to have carried last seasons from into the new season and if they continue to play at this standard they will go far this season.

Under 12 Div 1: In this division Clanmaurice and Killarney Celtic B had big wins while Fenit and Asdee shared the points. Listowel Celtic B were no match for a very strong Clanmaurice side going down 9-0 but to be fair they never gave up with Bill O’Flynn in goal, David O’Neill and Oisin Mangan all doing well. Clanmaurice had Dara Shannahan in great from and he netted four for himself. Aidan Keane got two with Colin Sheehy, Jeremy McKenna and Adam Fintan scoring one each.Killarney Celtic were two strong for the Park B with John Fintan Daly netting a hat-trick for the home side, Chris White got two with Martin Rennie and Bryan Myers getting the other two. The Park battled well in the second half and got some reward with goals from Brian Hill and Danny Keogh.

Fenit and Asdee served up a cracker sharing four goals. Mark Williams put Fenit ahead before Ryan Henry equalised for Asdee. Gary Moynihan put Fenit back in from but a Sean Keane penalty give both sides a point each from the first game of the season.

Under 14 Premier: Mastergeeha 2 – 4 Killarney Celtic; Celtic got the better of their neighbours in the opening game of the under 14 league season. They were 3-0 up through Kieran Murphy, Liam O’Sullivan and Cathal Sheeahan. Garroid Coghlan pulled one back for Mastergeeha but Scott O’Mahony made the points secure. Coghlan scored a second but it was too late for Mastergeeha. Killarney Athletic 3 - 4 Kingdom Boys The Tralee side made their first trip of the season to Killarney a winning one coming out on the right side of a seven goal thriller. Seamus Moloney  scored twice with one each coming from Gary O'Neill and Niall O'Riordan. Athletic's goals came from Ronan Murphy, James Carroll and Cian O'Lionard.

Under 14 Div 1:Only one game beat the weather here and St Bernard’s will be delighted that it did. They were much the better side beating a gallant Asdee side 8-0. Two hat tricks from Steven Egan and Sean O’Mahony and two from Gary Neenan were the scorers.

Under 16:Fenit 6 – 1 Asdee No problems for Fenit as they got their league campaign off to a good start. 2 from Andy Thompson and one each from David Rusk, Colin Slattery and Dean O’Sullivan plus an own goal gave them all three points. Park 1 - 3 Listowel Celtic This was a very tight encounter and looked for a long time to be heading for a draw. Tommy Griffin had put Listowel Cletic 1 up but the Park equalised before
half time and it remained that way until the last ten minutes when Brian Murphy stamped his class on the game. Firstly he set up Jamie Barry to give Cletic the lead and then with five minutes to go he provided the cross from the left that saw Mark Reen crack a wonder volley into the net.
