PADRAIG HARNETT: As you will know by now I have stepped down from my positions in the Club. Firstly I want to thank Dynamos, and especially Noel, Colm Clifford and Ger Moloney for thinking of me in the first place and for them giving me the opportunity to get involved in what was a very exciting time for Dynamos.

I would like to thank the whole Board of Directors and, very importantly, the players for the co-operation and help they gave me during my time with the club. Dynamos have to be commended for putting their heads above the parrapit and moving into the League of Ireland, and now moving forward again with the Under 20's.

I would like to think that I made some contribution during my time with Dynamos.
However going forward I feel, and I said this to the Board in my resignation letter, that Dynamos are at a cross roads and need very dedicated people to carry them forward. From the Media side I think the club needs a PRO to cover all aspects, from the Academy to the A Championship. While the A and U20 team are well catered for with radio and press coverage and the managers will be doing most of this PR work every club needs a PRO. Someone to compile the notes and send them to the papers, advertise events and this person must be able to work with both Kingdom Boys and Dynamos until they become one entity and then cover the whole club.

From a financial point of view this is without doubt the most serious challenge facing Dynamos. For some reason the CLub is not getting the crowds it needs. Hopefully further success for the A's and the U20's can help to rectify this.
I feel Dynamos really need to get thier floodlights up and to fund this need a 'full-time' dedicated Commercial person who is Tralee based and well known.

There also needs to be a discussion of all interested soccer people in Kerry of where the sport is going - but that is for another day!

Finally once again I really enjoyed my time with the Club and will, of course, be covering both A Chps and U20 Games for Radio Kerry. I want to wish Dynamos all the best for the future - there are great people in the club on both the playing and administration.

I will be celebrating as much as anyone when Dynamos win their first League of Ireland trophy and move into the First Division.

GARY O'NEILL:
Well done to Gary O'Neill who was a member of the Wolves Under 18/19's team that played Glasgow Rangers in a friendly over the weekend.

25/07/2010:
A CHAMPIONSHIP:
Tralee Dynamos 2 Cobh Ramblers 4. Probaly the most dramatic last 15 minutes seen in Cahermoneen since the club moved into League of Ireland football. Inside the final 15 minutes Cobh held a 2 goal advantage then Dynamos introduced Brian Murphy & Jamie Barry who were both making their senior debuts. Chris Kerins sent a crosst towards Brian Murphy who with a looping header the left the Cobh keeper stranded as the ball nestled in the net.

Minutes later Captain Maurice O'Rahilly headed to the net giving his team an equaliser. With the momentum clearly with Dynamos Brian Murphy set up James Sugrue who advanced towards goal hitting his shot towards the near post only to be denied by the feet of the subtitute keeper this was to be Dynamos last and only chance of winning the game. Heartbreak followed with the 90 minutes played Cobh hit Dynamos with two goals in injury time to gain 3 vital points in their quest for promotion. Paul Russell & Jamie Barry along with Brian Murphy celebrated club debuts. more

Goal scorers: Maurice O'Rahilly & Brian Murphy who has now scored on both his Under 20 & Senior debut.

24/07/2010:
LEAGUE OF IRELAND U-20:
Salthill Devon 4 Tralee Dynamos 1. Dynamos went down for the second week on the trot again away from home. Dynamos would prefer to forget the first half as they were always second best to a very polished hard working Salthill Devon.

A disputed penalty after 3 minutes set the tone for the remainder of the half with further goals after 12 minutes and 30 minutes all but guaranteed all 3 points for Salthill at an early stage. The consolation for the squad again was the second half performance which yielded a goal through Brendan Flavin.

Dynamos are having to learn very fast to adapt at this level and will take comfort from the performance of Brian Murphy, 16 year old Jonathon Hannafin & Jamie Barry. Next up for the Dynamos is a first home fixture of the season to Galway United in 2 weeks time. Special compliment to Salthill Devon for the fantastic facilities and carpet like pitch also for the speedy presence of a doctor to treat the injured Tralee Dynamos player Chris O'Sullivan.

Team: Stephen Bartlett, Chris O'Sullivan, Declan Doody, Ricky Halpin, Peter McCarthy, Jamie Barry, Jeffrey Roche, Jonathon McCoy, Jonathon Hannafin, Brian Murphy, Jamie Culloty. Subs: Brendan Flavin for Chris O'Sullivan, Presley Dube for Jamie Culloty, Sean O'Reilly for Jonathon McCoy. Subs not used, Paul White, Shane Carey.

Limerick F.C. 3 Tralee Dynamos 1. Dynamos entered a team in the League of Ireland under 20 league for a historic first time.Today they played their first game against Limerick City F.C. at Aisling Annacotty grounds.  Despite trailing at half time 2-0 Dynamos proceeded to give a very good account of themselves in the second half getting one goal back through Brian Murphy & hitting the post when the team were in a dominant position. Limerick were good value for all 3 points scoring with a far post header from a corner in the last 10 minutes. Next up for the team is away trip to Salthill Devon next Saturday.

Kingdom Boys 4 Killarney Celtic 5

To summarise this game a quote from Tralee Dynamos club captain says it all " you can't turn your back for a second or you'll miss something".

End to end action non stop excitement with loads of goals. Kingdom Boys started well creating a couple of chances but after 10 minutes the complexion of the game changed completely with Celtic's first goal, soon after they added a second, with another brace Celtic went into the break with the scoreline reading 4-0. Brian Twohig & Pa Moriarty got their troops into a huddle and what emerged for the second half was a completely different team one with purpose for sure.

Within 5 minutes of the break Kingdom Boys got one goal back 4-1, within 20 minutes the scoreline read 4-3 with "boys" involved in a goalmouth scramble only for the impressive Celtic keeper to save from 6 yards and setup a quick counter attack that yielded the winning goal 5-3 with a few minutes left.

The "boys" showed real character at this stage and battled hard to get another goal back 5-4 with time running out and eventually the  referee's whistle was blown and 3 points were claimed by Celtic.

To see both sets of players march off the pitch proudly with all the spectators showing their appreciation by clapping each and every player off the pitch.

Well done to both sets of coaches & players for one of the best underage games seen in Tralee Dynamos grounds.

UNDER 15 SEMI FINAL:
Inter Kenmare 3 Kingdom Boys
2 Cup soccer at its best unfortunately for the "boys" they came out second best in this game that had everything. Nigel O'Connor gave Kingdom Boys a two goal lead only for Kenmare to come storming back to 2-2 with less than 10 minutes on the clock remaining. The last 10 minutes have everything saves galore, shots and headers of the crossbar & post. Kenmare got the winner with less than 5 minutes left and as hard as the "boys" tried it just wasn't going to be their night. Many thanks to Inter Kenmare for a wonderful game played with true cup spirit. Well done to all the players for giving such great entertainment for both sets of supporters.

Aaron Houlihan, Uros Ivokic, Paul White, Adam Piggott

TRALEE DYNAMOS/KINGDOM BOYS: Last weekend's League of Ireland game was a milestone in the merger of both clubs with members of the current Kingdom Boys U-16 squad elevated to the senior team for the trip away to St.Patrick's Athletic last Sunday. Uros Ivkovic & Adam Piggott both played important roles for the team when introduced in the 60th & 65th minutes. The importance of players playing at the highest level of their abilities is something Tralee Dynamos/Kingdom Boys endorse highly and further proof of this was Gary O'Neill who has agreed a 3 year contract with Wolves.

1 aet. Killarney Celtic win on penalties (5-4) Kingdom Boys opened the scoring in the first half when Scott Monoghan drilled his shot from the angle of the 18 yard box to beat the keeper at the far post. Celtic scored an equaliser in the second half with an excellent flowing move started on the right with play switched over to Cathal Sheehan who's cross was met at the far post by Thomas Templeman who finished to the net. Extra time produced no futher goals and the dreaded penalty shoot was decided in sudden death.

UNDER 16 NATIONAL CUP: Crumlin United Vs Kingdom Boys Sunday 16th of May 2.00p.m.

Following last weekends heart break for Killarney Celtic in their National Cup semi final next Sunday sees Kingdom Boys having their date with destiny. When you consider that they are only the fourth ever Schoolboys side from Kerry to reach this stage of the competition it shows how difficult it is to get to the final stages, especially with over 250 teams starting out.

This game will see two free scoring sides meeting in what could be a battle of the defences because whichever rearguard comes out on top could progress. Kingdom Boys have scored 16 goals and conceeded only 2 in their run with their 1-0 win in Dublin over Cherry Orchard and their 5-4 penalty win over Belvedere in the quarter final being the highlights.

Crumlin came in at the fourth round stage in the DDSL then won easily to reach their quarter final when they had a very good 2-0 win over Fairview in Limerick.

This Kingdom Boys side, under the leadership of Tony O'Neill and Miah Lynch have years of experience and indeed heartbreak as they have gone out in the quarter final stages for each year for the last five years. However now they have gone one step further and hopefully those experiences and the bonds they have created will see them make history and become the first Kerry Schoolboys side to reach a National Cup final where Bohemians await.

The game will be played in Dublin on Sunday, with the kick off time still to be confirmed, on what could be a huge day for the Kingdom Boys /Tralee Dynamos club as the senior side play Tolka Rovers in Tralee in the FAI Ford Cup second round with a 2.30pm kick off

UNDER 16 PREMIER: Camp Juniors 1 Kingdom Boys 7. Goals from Gary O'Neill (3), Dara O'Brien (2), Adam Piggott, Uros Ivkovic. A feature of tonight's game was the excellent technique used by the players in scoring goals from a range of distances.

NEWSTALK A CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Sat Nav is re-programmed as the odyssey begins again for Tralee Dynamos:
Tralee Dynamos now know their League plans for the forthcoming Newstalk A Championship as the fixtures for the two groups in the League were released today.

18 teams line-up in two groups of 9 and Dynamos will have three new teams to pit their wits against this season with UCD, Galway United and Limerick in their group.

Bohs, Sporting Fingal and Shelbourne are now in the opposite side of the League so Dynamos could be planning to renew rivalries with one of those at the play-off stage!

Dynamos start and end their campaign with home ties beginning with Bray Wanderers on the week ending May 23rd and finishing with Shamrock Rovers on the weekend ending on Sunday October 10th – now what a clash that would be if both sides were in contention for League honours.

Following the Bray game Dynamos hit the road and travel to Dublin to face Pats against whom they took four points from six last season.

Dynamos welcome the first of the new sides, Galway United to Tralee followed by an away tie against Limerick.
The next two games sees Dynamos home to UCD and away to FC Carlow ( a grudge match depending on the A Championship Cup result!) before the have a free weekend on July 18th.

Back again at home to Cobh, against whom we have already drawn 1-1 in the Cup this season, followed by the much looked forward to rematch against Rovers in Tallaght. Next up is Bray away, Pats at home and Galway away to round off July.
September sees Limerick travel to Tralee followed by an away trip to Dublin to face UCD then home to Carlow before our second free weekend.

Dynamos round out their campaign with and away trip to Cobh followed by the last game in Tralee at home to the mighty Hoops – Shamrock Rovers.

Looking at the teams we faced last season that are again in our group Dynamos took 18 points from these ten games so another haul a little higher that that would be ideal and then see what happens with the new teams. It’s all to play for in the League of Ireland A Championship. A fixture list like this is the reason why Dynamos went League of Ireland, to pit ourselves against the best in the country.

Group 2: Tralee Dynamos, Bray Wanderers, UCD, Galway United, Limerick, FC Carlow, St Pats, Cobh Ramblers and Shamrock Rovers.

Group 1: Bohs, Drogheda, Shelbourne, Tullamore Town, Sligo Rovers, Finn Harps, Sporting Fingal, Castlebar Celtic and Dundalk.

NEWSTALK A CHAMPIONSHIP CUP: The draw for the Newstalk Cup semi final were conducted by Fran Gavin Director of the League and Michael Hayes Operation Manager this morning, and resulted as follows,

Home Semi Final for Dynamos if they can conquer FC Carlow The carrot of a home semi-final in the A Championship Cup makes Sunday's trip to FC Carlow an even bigger game!

The draws for those semi-finals was today in Abbotstown and it pits Tralee Dynamos / FC Carlow against Sporting Fingal with the winners of Group 1 to meet the winners of Group 3 in the other game.Looking at these it looks like Group 1 is between Castlebar Celtic and Galway United while Group 3 is tighter with St Pats, Bohs and Bray still in contention.

The date for the semi final is pencilled in for May 9th so if Dynamos can get over FC Carlow this Sunday what a week it would set up for the club with the next round of the EA Sports Cup away to Waterford United on Tuesday night May 11th and of course the FAI Ford Cup second round game at home to Tolka Rovers on Sunday May 16th.

What a wonderful series of games to be looking forward to as a player, manager or supporter!!

FC Carlow / Tralee Dynamos v Sporting Fingal

Winners Group 3 v Winners of Group 1

Games to be played weekending the 9th May.

Good performances from some of younger players Sean O'Reilly, Chris O'Sullivan, Robert Birdsall in goal & Jonathon Hannifin. Birdsall in goal pulled off a handful of excellent saves to keep Dynamos in the game. Jason Fitzgerald hit the crossbar from a long range free was the closest Dynamos got on the night.

CPC.IE CONGRATULATES TRALEE DYNAMOS: 1 would firstly like to thank the Board for asking me to come along to the launch of this ambitious and inspiring new venture. I have no doubt that Tralee Dynamos have proven, by your remarkable drive and success to date, that this new goal will also be achieved.

Before leaving for the Brandon this evening I was listening to Gary Hynes (no relation) who is the Director of the now world famous Druid Theatre. She explained that “in the present economic climate self belief and self worth as a community is more important NOW than ever before”.

I believe Tralee Dynamos has these qualities in abundance and you NOW have the opportunity to show the country how these qualities can inspire us all. CPC.ie are thrilled to be the club sponsor and we are very fortunate to be associated with such a dynamic and hard-working Team. Congratulations and best wishes with this fantastic new development and best of luck in the season ahead. – Tony Hynes (Managing Director)

Media Officer Padraig Harnett writes;

The Launch is Over - Now the Hard Work Begins; Following a very impressive launch in the Brandon Hotel, where the 3D and drawings of the new Stadium attracted very favourable comment the hard work of making the plans a reality has begun.

At the launch the crowd, including the A Championship squad, former players and parents of Academy players, the Board of Director and Cllr Mairead Fernane, was addressed by Ger Moloney Chairman of Tralee Dynamos, Chris Kerins, Chairman of Kingdom Boys, Noelle O'Brien, Kingdom Girls Academy, Brian Twohing, Kingdom Boys Academy and Dynamos main sponsor Tony Hynes of CPC.ie. all endorsed the importance of the club having a ground and facilities that it can be proud of. Those from the Academy spoke of having to change training venues at least three times in the last few months. This is also something that our A Championship side also has to endure.

Therefore the plans to turn on the floodlights for night games, the construction of the Full Size All Weather, the pitch and ancillary facilities are vital for the future of the club.

How you can help was outlined with avenues open to all pockets as every Euro will be vital to progress this ambitious but achieveable project.

Direct Debit: Direct Debit forms are now available with options of donation e5,e10 or e20 on a weekly or monthly basis. We hope that all parents will sign up to this, in which ever option suit them as it is your kids that will be the major benificaries of this work.

For this you will recieve a Season Ticket to our A Championship and U20 Home games. We are also presenting all our underage players with a season ticket (where they must be accompanied by an adult) as we know they want to come along and support our senior teams.

Player Sponsorship: If you have a business and would like to sponor a player that is available for only e200.

For that you will have your business listed on the website and in the programme published once we get the A Championship Fixtures, your business listed on an outdoor sign at the grounds and tickets to a game of your choice.

Please contact Noel, myself or any of the players if you would like to support them in this way.

Kellogs Field of Dreams -  We need all kids and grown up kids! to collect tokens from Kellogs Corn Flakes for their Field of Dreams competition.

We need 700 for the next step in our entry into this competition which has an amazing e100,000 first prize.

Pitch Side Signs - We are also hoping to start erecting signs around the pitch in the very near future. We have a number of these already but need more.

Again if you have a business and would like to have your sign at pitch side please contact us.

The Board and Officers of the CLub are working hard to make this project a success and also to be in a position to approach the banks and the Government when the next tranche of Sports Capital becomes available.

However if we do not have the support of all those with an interest in the future of the club, and especially the parents / guardians of our future stars it will become a much harder prospect to bring the facilities to the level we all want to see.

To finance the project a number of initatives will be undertaken by the clubs including a direct debit. mandate.

A powerpoint presentation showing the plans for the proposed developments concluded the night. presentation

THE LAUNCH OF TRALEE DYNAMOS /KINGDOM BOYS MAJOR DEVELOPMENT

FRIDAY April 23rd at 7.30pm, Mount Brandon Hotel, Tralee

To All Players / Parents/ Supporters and Interested Parties:

Kingdom Boys and Tralee Dynamos have both enjoyed wonderful success on the playing fields over the years. The clubs have now come together to continue this and to now give players the pathway from under 7’s to League of Ireland.

In addition to the A Championship team the club will be the only Kerry entity taking part in this season U20 League of Ireland Competition.

As I write this Kingdom Boys are still involved at National Cup level and going from many titles in the Kerry Schoolboys League.

So the success on the field continues – then what is next?

The Future: The Board of the Club has drawn up plans for a major development of its facilities to give the club the home and heart it deserves. These plans will be launched at this function and everyone is invited to see into the future – one where the club will be able to train and play all year round at its grounds, where parents will not just drop off their kids but will be able to stay around and enjoy a cup of tea and also get involved in the club. Once this becomes a reality we will really have a club and not just a series of teams.

What is envisaged? Well you will have to come along on the night to see but as a taster let’s say that once the phases are developed the grounds at Cahermoneen will be the envy of all sporting organisations in the county and beyond!!

How can you help? On the night this will all be outlined and there will be opportunities for everyone to help out to this project which when completed will cost in the region of up to e1 million. To achieve this everyone will have to work together and remember every euro raised is a euro closer to completion.

In a time when unfortunately the Government has suspended Lotto funding we in Tralee Dynamos / Kingdom Boys must get the project underway ourselves and be in a position to attain Lotto funding once this comes back on stream.

SO COME ALONG AND GET INVOLED – REMEMBER THIS IS FOR THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE AND TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIVE THIS.

On behalf of the Board of Directors (Ger Moloney, Chris Kerins, Rena Powell, Colm Clifford, Tony O’Neill and Pa Daly).

Padraig Harnett – Media and Commercial

Noel White – Club Administrator / Fundraiser.

Jonathon Hannifin who was Dynamos youngest ever scorer last week at 16 years 12 days did it again with a goal of sheer quality, after receiving the ball from an Adrian McHugh cross Hannifin volleyed to the net from 18 yards giving the Camp keeper little chance. Despite the best efforts of Pa Daly, Ger Moloney, Eddie Foster, Jason Fitzgerald & Adrian McHugh Dynamos could not breach the faltering Camp defence.

16 Years 12 Days

PREMIER: Tralee Dynamos 1 Killorglin F.C. 2

Two defensive errors proved costly to Dynamos in this relegation battle which took place in Cahermoneen. Killorglin led 2-0 at the break but whatever manager Colm Clifford said at the half time the Dynamos players came out with a renewed appetite for the game. No one epitomized the Dynamos effort more so than Jonathon Hannifin who became the youngest goalscorer for Tralee Dynamos when he coolly slotted home a penalty to give Dynamos a chance in this game. Gearoid Clifford another prodigy of the Kingdom Boys under age system marshaled the back line like an accomplished centre half. Late efforts from Adrian McHugh, Ivan Maher, and Gearoid Clifford failed to breach the Killorglin rearguard so the Mid Kerry side takes all 3 points which should ensure their premier survival.

DIVISION 11 NORTH: Kingdom Boys B 3 Camp Juniors 4 Kingdom Boys B lost 3-4 today despite leading 2:0 at half time.Unfortunately Camp Juniors scored 2 quick goals at the start of the second half, but we still went ahead when Joel Vesey was pushed in the penalty area and spot kick was well taken by Gavin O'Brien. With 15min. left in the game we were still 3:2 up. Camp push hard from that point and got 2 goals to take all 3 points. Thanks to  good goalkeeping from Giles, very good defending from Robbie and Brandon and midfield dynamo  Joel Vesey we were unfortunate not to get at least a point from this game. UNDER 11 PREMIER: Inter Kenmare 2 Kingdom Boys 5 After the long journey to new horizons, the boys having gone behind within ten minutes of play, grounded out a deserved victory thanks to two goals from new "million dollar" striker Jamie Leen, two from the ever consistent Rian O'Sullivan and of course one from Birthday Boy Darcy.

Not for the first time this season the defence still asleep gave away that early goal only to respond and score two, one of which was a cleverly worked sequence of passes, with Jamie leaving the keeper stuck to the line. However a lack of concentration left the Kenmare number eleven to beat a very consistent Shigun Duyile, who earlier had made the save that Edwin Van der sar would have been proud of. At the half it was two a piece.

From the whistle, led by Captain Fergal Ryan, the Boys' upped a gear and within minutes O'Sullivan had scored with a lobbing right legged shot, which from a natural left sided player shows that practise makes perfect. Again the Boys commanded the centre of the field with Stefan, Cian and Adam closing down and setting up the forwards to penetrate the last quarter of the field and the scoring of the two remaining goals was only a matter of time!

We thank a brave and sporting Kenmare team and manager Caroline for their gamesmanship and Hospitality.

So on we go to the top and with two games this coming week, a real view of the table will be evident by twelve noon on Saturday, and Yes we will be their to be counted!!!!

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Well done to Rian O'Sullivan of Kingdom Boys under 11's who made the "Kerry Schoolboys Team of the Week". Rian scored twice in his teams away victory to Inter Kenmare.

U
NDER 16 NATIONAL CUP: Cherry Orchard (Dublin) 0 Kingdom Boys (Kerry) 1

Pride of place this week goes to our under 16 team who qualified for the last 8 of the National Cup for the 5th year in row.

First of all let’s take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful supporters for their magnificent support in Dublin on Sunday. Out numbering and out shouting the home team one would think that we were the home team. Back to the action and again this team has proved to all other sides in Kerry and beyond that just because you mention the DDSL you are not beaten before the KO.

Boys showed on Sunday that if you work hard and apply yourself anything is possible. This surely is a record for Kerry schoolboys soccer last 8 for the 5th year in a row? This batch of players deserves great credit for flying the flag for the Kerry Schoolboys league and are tremendous ambassadors into the bargain.

Cherry Orchard welcomed us with open arms and are to be fair great hosts, but on the field of play things are always different. Paul White in goals had his best game since joining Boys and the confidence he oozed on the day transferred to all those in front of him. Shane Ian Bobby and DC defended like veterans Gaz, DOB Uros and Totts are a class apart in schoolboy’s soccer and with Sponge and Adam up front we will always score goals. David when introduced was magnificent and leaves the management team with headaches and Alan, Nonny, Donny, Niall and Wayne were a credit even though they got no playing time on this occasion. The first half was even enough with both sides sharing possession even though we slightly shaded the chances.

The second half began with Adam nearly scoring after 10 seconds and when the excellent Sponge did score an absolute cracker there was only going to be one winner Kingdom Boys AFC. We now look forward to a Quarter final yet again and this time welcome Belvedere Boys to Tralee.

Team: Paul White, Shane Carey, Darragh Carmody, Ian McCarthy, Brendan Flavin, Scott Monaghan, Aaron Houlihan, Darra O'Brien, Uros Ivkovic, Darren O'Brien, Adam Piggott. Subs: David O'Sullivan for Aaron Houlihan, Alan Crean, Jonathon Hannafin, Donnagh McGarry,Wayne Duggan, Niall O'Riordan, Seanie Moloney. photos

PREMIER: Tralee Dynamos 5 Killarney Athletic 1 . "A Blast from the Past" Adrian McHugh one of the all time Dynamos top scorers recorded another hat trick to add to his tally. Adrian came out of retirement after the previous meeting between these clubs that resulted in a 10 nil win to Athletic. Eddie Duggan chipped in with another 2 to send player/manager for the day Jason Fitzgerald home happy safe in the knowledge that under his guidance the team recorded their first win of the season. Well done to the players who have had a couple of tough weeks.
