Two goals in the first half saw the USA change formation in the second half to a 5-4-1 and despite all the pressure Ireland applied in the second half they could not breach an very good USA side's defence. This was James second apperance his first at home to Wales and he gave a fantastic performance crossing numerous times into the box creating a multitude of chances for the Irish strikers.more

LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL REPLAY: Tralee Dynamos 2  Lisselton 1. Dynamos qualified for the final of the league with a very courageous performance against Lisselton last night. Media sources may indicate it was not a pretty game but sometimes those who dig deepest with committement, bravery when the chips are down will almost always surely be rewarded. Beautiful games can only be played when two teams want to play football and this is now possible with the meeting  of Tralee Dynamos and  Killarney Celtic in the final.

Tralee Dynamos got their just reward last night despite losing keeper Derek O'Shea to one of the many controversial decisions on the night on 40 minutes for a tackle. Jason Fitzgerald in attack who was outstanding last night had to make way for substitute keeper Mikil Szorosky who made two fantastic full stretch saves , as Dynamos reorganised to a 4-4-1. James Sugrue on the receiving end of one tackle to many had to be replaced by Billy Stack 65mins , Adrian Quirke 70th minute pulled up with a groin injury after giving his all to be replaced by Damien Quirke. This left Dynamos in a position where no further substitutons could be made.

Maurice O'Rahilly Dynamos captain carrying an injury from 30/35 minutes sent out a defiant message to all that Dynamos will not give goals away defended herocially for the 120 minutes beside him standing tall was Eoin Cassidy winning the vast majority of ball whether it was in the air or on the ground he dealt majestically with every Lisselton threat. Darren Crotty superb, Damien Quirke when introduced played his part.

Midfield quartet of James Sugrue, Kevin McCannon, James Wall and David Conway played the best football on show last night and restricted Irish International Stevie O'Mahoney and Paddy Kelly to limited effect. A free kick from Eoin Cassidy that was spilled by the Lisselton Keeper fell to the feet of Kevin McCannon who drilled to the net from 15 yards to open the scoring for the reds on 50 minutes.

Up front Adrian McHugh for as many years as one cares to remember had constantly and consistently hit goals and last nights winner as Colm Clifford said "I'll remember McHugh's goal for the rest of my life". Adrian carrying an injury from the 60th minute battled through the pain barrier and deep into the first half of extra time 30 yards out from goal positioned himself off the shoulder of the last defender, Eoin Casssidy with an 50 yard pass to McHugh who had his  mind made up with a sublime first touch losing the defender and gaining a badly needed couple of yards went one on one with the keeper, composure intact calmness personified side footed to the net giving the large Dynamos support reasons to celebrate.

All attention turns to the final against Killarney Celtic with a date to be finalised but most likely the end of next week Tralee Dynamos will face their 38th opponent of a season that kicked off last August 26th. A showpiece occasion for 2 of Kerry's biggest and finest clubs.

BILLY DENNEHY: Well done to Kerry's first ever player to play a game with a premier division side Sunderland in their recent pre season game away to Scunthorpe. Well done Billy. Extract from the game: Sunderland, who at times lost possession too easily, came closest to scoring in the 76th minute. Billy Dennehy, in space on the left, crossed for Murphy who curled a left-foot shot against the upright from outside the area.Billy Dennehy replaced Leadbetter after 69minutes.

Maurice O'Rahilly club captain thanked the F.A.I. represented by Chief Excutive John Delany and Packie Bonner of the Technical Developement Department. Maurice was also full of praise to a very determined Spa Road team that never gave up and got some consolation for their efforts with a fantastic free kick in the 94th minutes alas match referee Kevin O'Reagan ably assisted by Brian Healy and Tommy Templeman blew for full time after the kick off. CASTLE BAR CUP FINAL: Tralee Dynamos 1 Vs Killarney Celtic 0 James Wall was the hero for the super reds last night when he scored he's 10th goal of the season and  the only goal of a cup final thriller. A game both sides gave it their all with soccer the real winner. What a pity with the current structure of the league that it is possible that both these teams could go through a season and not play each other this for sure denies the true soccer supporter games of quality and excellence. Again last night it showed that nothing seperates these sides and its possible that both will have a big say in the destination of the Premier League Title over the coming weeks. It takes 2 teams to make a final and a special mention must go to Karl McMahon's managed team who gave their all in this game. Maurice O'Rahilly received the cup from K.D.L. representative Don O'Donoughue.more - match report

MAN OF THE MATCH: Goal scorer James Wall was named man of the match after the game and was presented his award by Adrian O'Sullivan. James thanks Killarney Celtic for a fantastic match and also thanked his team and management.

EOIN CASSIDY: We wish Eoin a speedy recovery after last night's game. Eoin received an injury late in the game that required 15 stitches along his eye lid such was the complex nature of his injury that it required a specialist to complete the surgery.

KERRY 1 CORK CITY 1: Kerry League lost the penalty shootout to Cork in a game where they created the better chances and on another night would have went on to win by a couple of goals. James Sugrue and David Conway in the middle of the park gave there opponents nothing with James putting in a man of the match performance with an excellent display of retaining possesion at all times regardless of the pressure. David Conway scored from the spot for Kerry and was a constant thorn in City's side throughout the 120 minutes.

The heart of Kerry's performance was by Maurice O'Rahilly who had to contend with both Denis Behan and John O'Flynn and it would be fair to say neither got a clear strike on goal. What a game when you know that Maurice has been out of the game with injury for the last month. Damien Diggins up front led the line and held up the ball well despite been double marked. Damien Quirke was introduced in the second half at right back and turned in an excellent display for the remainder of the match.Theo Diggins was also part of the squad that did Kerry soccer proud on the night. Visit Cork City's website for post match reaction. http://www.corkcityfc.ie/home.htm

Eddie and Eoin Cassidy with Colin Hanley, Sean Foley and Adam Moss tried hardest. The replay of this game will take place in Dynamos grounds over the next couple of weeks. A big effort is needed from the squad as this is a competition that we can win. John O'Reagan managed the Cosmos side who had a few good players in their ranks.

MUNSTER UNDER 16 FINALS: Kerry lost 2-1 to Cork in this a game they could easily have won. All Dynamos players took part in this game and Wayne Conway was on the scoresheet again to score Kerry's only game. DENNY PREMIER B: Mainebank Vs Tralee Dynamos Game not played Mainebank gave a walkover which is a huge dissapointment at this stage of the season. Curran's defeat of Castleisland coupled with this walkover see's Dynamos qualified for the semi-final stages of the league. Most likely opponents will be either Killarney Celtic or Lisselton.

GOLF HOTEL YOUTHS LEAGUE: Listowel Celtic 1 Vs Tralee Dynamos 2 The youth team wrapped up their campaign with an very impressive 1-2 scoreline. Conditions for the game were perfect great weather, great pitch. Goals from Damien Quirke his 3rd in 3 games and the winner from James O'Sullivan gives Dynamos an excellent chance of qualifying for the Semi-final.Jamie McIntyre put in a inspiring captains role from the middle of the park and based on this performance is there a better midfielder in the county out there??? It must also be said its very dissapointing at this stage of the season not to see a league table as to know what is required to win or come second in the group.

DENNY DIVISION 1A: Spa Road 1 Vs Tralee Dynamos "B" 0 Tralee Dynamos lost to local rivals Spa Road last night by the odd goal in a dissapointing performance. Timmy Cotter and Adam Moss put in notable performances.

Fenit on the counter attack with Paul Moloney in midfield providing good service for the forwards. Tommy McCarthy bought the best out of keeper Derek O'Shea with a powerful strike from 25 yards out that the keeper did well to save and keep control of the ball. The second half continued in the same vein with Dynamos with the majority of possesion but Fenit alway dangerous on the counter attack. GREYHOUND BAR CUP FINAL 2006-2007

TRALEE DYNAMOS 2  SPA ROAD CELTIC 1

article by: Christy Leahy

While not the best game ever played in Mounthawk Park this Greyhound Bar Cup Final was testament to the resilience of both teams who played to the best of their respective abilities in horrendous playing conditions. Those who expected Spa Road to roll over were more than surprised by their positive attitude from start to finish, and let it go on the record that they finished in style. Once again referee Kevin O'Regan, ably assisted by Tom Templeman and Brian Healy, had an excellent game. If Spa  Road had a weakness it was in doubting their own ability and at times they lacked the confidence to take on the Dynamos defence opting to give hopeful long balls out of their own danger area, a tactic that their more illustrious opponents revelled in.

In fact Spa Road created the first scoring chance from a Jonathan Loughnane free in the fifth minute. It proved to hot to handle for Derek O'Shea whose punched clearance fell to Anthony Morrisson and his goal bound shot was cleared by Maurice O'Rahilly.

Five minutes later James Wall gave a beautiful diagonal pass to James Sugrue whose first time effort was saved by Packie Griffin. Jamie McIntyre was having a torrid time trying to get by Paul Donovan and on the other flank a confident Joe Duggan put the shackles on Dynamos danger man James Sugrue. With Morrisson coming more into the game for Spa Road and assisted by the ever-present Jonathan Loughnane Dynamos defence were tested on a number of occasion but Rahilly and Cassidy were unbeatable in the central roles. Packie Griffin was equal to a rasping James Wall shot in the 20th minute and two minutes later Eoin Cassidy made good contact with a David Conway free but was again denied by Griffin. Adrian Quirke interchanged passes with Conway before shooting from just outside the box in the 30th minute but the Spa Road keeper denied Dynamos the lead. Dynamos were starting to stretch the Spa Road defence with patient one touch football and good interaction of passes. In first half injury time Dynamos forced two corners, the second of which Cassidy went forward for. James Sugrue floated in the perfect corner and Cassidy rose highest to head Dynamos into the lead.

Both teams made half time substitutions. Pa Moriarty came in for the injured David Cunningham whilst Damien Quirke replaced Jamie McIntyre for Dynamos. Spa Road continued to frustrate Dynamos for long periods of the second half. In the 55th minute a Derek O'Shea clearance cannoned off a Spa Road attacker and O'Shea won the battle for possession with Danny Feehan because of his height advantage. Spa Road were showing signs of tiring and their bench wisely used the full compliment of substitutes and one of these Mike Duggan cleared the ball off the line with his first touch.

Griffin continued in the same inspiring way for most of the second half but was beaten for the second time in the 80th minute. James Wall intercepted a clearance in the middle of the field and passed the ball to the advancing Damien Quirke with pinpoint accuracy. Quirke took on Donovan and crossed to Adrian McHugh who had replaced Damien Diggins, and he obliged with a tap-in from four yards. At this point most teams would have given up but this is where Spa Road are different. They continued to go forward looking for that elusive goal and were awarded a free kick on the edge on the box. Jonathan Loughnane drilled a beautiful free around the wall and over the bewildered Derek O'Shea for an excellent goal in the final minute and in their eyes justice was done, they had scored against the mighty Dynamos.

TRALEE DYNAMOS: Derek O'Shea; 2.Adrian Quirke; 3. Darren Crotty; 4.Owen Cassidy; 5. Maurice O'Rahilly; 6.Jamie McIntyre; 7. James Sugrue; 8. David Conway; 9. Kevin McCannon; 10. Damien Diggins; 11. James Wall. Subs: Damien Quirke for Jamie McIntyre, Theo Diggins for Eoin Cassidy, Adrian McHugh for Eoin Cassidy.

SPA ROAD; Packie Griffin; 2. Paul Donovan; 3. Joe Dugggan; 4. Jonathan Loughnane; 5. David Cunningham; 6. Peter Coffey; 7.John Quirke; 8. Mark Greensmith; 9. Danny Feehan; 10. Anthony Morrisson; 11. Shane Fitzgerald

MAN OF THE MATCH: Legendry Irsh Goalkeeper Packie Bonner who was in attendance was given the task of picking man of the match. He said in his opinion there was only one candidate and that Packie Griffin who he said , gave a display of top class keeping in very poor conditions. So for an overall outstanding display Griffin accepted the plaudits from his sporting hero and was obviously delighted on winning the award.

JOHN DELANEY; FAI Chief Executive was also present and recalled the days when he lined out in Mounthawk Park with Tralee Celtic . He congratulated both teams on their performances and was quick to console Packie Griffin telling him he would get a winners medal as his over 35 counterparts had won the Cup earlier in the evening. He also congratulated the KDL on their fantastic facilities and added that he looked forward to meeting all the clubs in Kerry who have developed their grounds and continue to improve their facilities.

NOEL WHITE;  Admitted at being surprised to find out when going through club records that Dynamos had not won the Greyhound Bar Cup for at least fifteen years. He was particularly delighted for Adrian McHugh and Colm Clifford that they had finally won the Premier Cup Competition in Kerry soccer. After the disappointment of the FAI & Munster Junior Cup campaigns they set their sights on the domestic treble. He was conscious of the fact that QPR could have beaten them and in fact took them to a replay and  while congratulating Spa Road on their performance he continued to say that Killarney Celtic and Lisselton were now waiting in the high grass and that Dynamos would have to be at their best to beat either of them.

Soccer: Dynamos caught napping

KO Cup Semi-Final
Tralee Dynamos 1 QPR 1

EXTRACT FROM THE KINGDOM NEWSPAPER

PREMIER League high flyers and recent Castle Bar League Cup winners Tralee Dynamos put in a shocking poor performance on Wednesday evening at Mounthawk Park in the semi-final of the Greyhound Bar KO Cup when they almost came a cropper against division one side, QPR.
The game was played in driving rain but overall the game did not suffer with the contrast in styles being noteworthy. Dynamos passed the ball at every opportunity and sometimes into trouble while QPR used the long ball out of defense and in the conditions, it looked to be more effective.
Dynamos had the lions share of the play in the opening half, being very dangerous down the right where Damien Quirke and James Sugrue threatened but the crosses were not going in often enough and into the danger zone.

Dynamos had a chance in the fourth minute when Sugrue’s cross was headed goalwards by a QPR defender and keeper O’Sullivan did very well to tip the ball over the crossbar. Dynamos continued to press in the opening thirty minutes but to be honest other then some fancy flicks and a few dangerous crosses, they rarely looked like scoring. QPR could have scored in their first real attack in the 27th minute when Stephen Lehane sent a through that caught Dynamos napping and Derek O’Shea had to come along way off his line to fly kick the ball away from the in rushing Sean O’Keeffe.

O’Keeffe then struck a shot, following a corner that was not cleared, just over the top in the 38th minute while minutes later, Dynamos should have taken the lead when James Sugrue nutmeged Don Casey before crossing but Tim Lynch took it off the line and a couple of more Dynamos attack yielded nothing as the sides retired scoreless.

The rains came down the second half and Dynamos got very sloppy at the back, but still played the passing game, everyway but forward it seemed. Dynamos had chances but could not put them away until they took the lead from a well worked move in the 68th minute when Damien Quirke crossed to Maurice O’Rahilly who nodded the ball into the path of James Wall who made it five goals in five games.

Would the floodgates open, not at all as QPR counter attacked and more sloppy defending saw Lehane produce a fine run and cross that sub, Daniel O’Leary, poked home. QPR then lost Daniel O’Leary with serious leg injury and Dynamos wasted a couple of free kicks and corners before QPR almost stole the game in injury time when Stephen Lehane’s corner was taken off the line by Darren Crotty.

So a replay it is and QPR will feel that Dynamos can be beaten but the Tralee side will have to return to basics and get the ball more quickly to their strikers.

Tralee Dynamos: D O’Shea, D Quirke, D Crotty, M O’Rahilly, A Quirke, J Sugrue, D Conway, K McCannon, T Diggins, D Diggins, J Wall.Subs:A McHugh for D Diggins (inj), B Stack for D Conway, J McIntyre for T Diggins. Robert Birdsall, Wayne Conway

QPR: G O’Sullivan, T Lynch, A O’Leary, D O’Sullivan, D Casey, I O’Leary, E Lawlor, P Murphy, S Lehane, S O’Keeffe, A Donnelly. Subs: D O’Leary for S O’Leary.

DENNY DIVISION 1A: Tralee Dynamos 4 Vs Ballyheigue 2 Goals from Damien Diggins (2), Eddie Duggan (2) gave the "B" team a well deserved victory at Cahermoneen yesterday.

DENNY PREMIER B: Tralee Dynamos 2 Vs Fenit Samphires 0 Tralee Dynamos continued their impressive form with a 2-0 win over a game Fenit Samphires side. 0-0 at half time didnt show the true picture with Dynamos hitting the post 3 times with efforts from Damien Diggins, Adrian McHugh and James Sugrue from 35 yards the Fenit goal led a charmed life in the first half. David Conway finally broke the deadlock in the 59th minute for Dynamos with a fine move down the wing by James Sugrue who in turn passed to Damien Diggins who's cross was inch perfect for Conway to head to the net to give the reds the lead they deserved. After this Dynamos made a few changes with Sean Foley coming on for Billy Stack and Jason Fitzgerald replaced McHugh. On the 75th minute Jason Fitzgerald off the bench made all 3 points safe for Dynamos when he shot to the net from 10 yards out from a corner  on the right side of the pitch taken by James Sugrue. Conditions on the night were ideal for football with the playing pitch in immaculate condition summer soccer on the agenda maybe!!!!!! Dynamos lead at the top of the table increases after Playing 13 games winning 11 drew 1 and 1 loss giving an  impressive 34 points return so far for the season.

Denny Division 1 "A": Tralee Dynamos 0 Vs Lisselton 1
Despite the majority of possesion and chances Dynamos could not penetrate the Lisselton rearguard who seem to have every player behind the ball.

Tralee Dynamos 6 Newtown Athletic 0

Dynamos advanced to the next round of the Castle Bar Cup with victory over Newtown Athletic in a contest that showed the difference between premier football and division one. Despite the huge effort Newtown Athletic put in it was not just enough against the slick passing of the Tralee side.

Dynamos opened the scoring after 14 minutes and despite having the lions share of the play up to that point the first goal when it came was a fortunate one for the reds. A cross from the right hand side resulted in a defensive error with the ball landing at the feet of Maurice O'Rahilly who side footed to the net from 6 yards.

Dynamos double the scoring 6 minutes later when Maurice O'Rahilly got on ball 40 yards from goal picking out the forward run of Kevin McCannon who headed back across the goal for Jason Fitzgerald to head to the net 2-0 to Dynamos.

Newtown created one of their better chances a couple of minutes later when a quick counter attack by Denis Kennelly who's pass put through Damien Flynn who's right footed shot hit the side netting with keeper Derek O'Shea scrambling to cover.

The game as a contest ended shortly after when on the 27th minute a through ball to Eddie Duggan was handled by D.J. Keane and referee Michael O'Connor pointed to the spot no complaints all around to the decision. Eddie Duggan despite the best efforts of the diving keeper made it 3-0. A couple of minutes later the Newtown keeper made the save of the save of the match when he dived full lenght to keep Duggans effort out. This was to be Duggans last involvement before being strecthered off injured on the 31st minute to be replaced by David Conway.

The second half was only four minutes old when Billy Stack got possesion in midfield passed the ball out to James Wall who dribbled past his opponent before crossing to the near post for the inrushing Adrian McHugh's to a header passed the keeper and into the net 4-0 Dynamos.

Jason Fitzgerald got his 2nd and Dynamos 5th after good build up play by Damien Quirke. Kevin McCannon finished the scoring for Dynamos with a delicate chip over the keeper making the score 6-0.

  Tralee Dynamos B  4   Listowel Celtic B  1

We were down to the bones with only 12 togged due to  injuries. We started well and played with a stiff breeze. We went ahead after about 5 mins, Listowel conceded a free about 25 yards out on the left. Pa Daly stood over it, and we were expecting one of Pa's effort to go high and wide, but he drilled it into the crowded box and took a slight deflection into the net. Great start for us and we continued to push forward. 20 mins later we got our 2nd, Adam Moss swung over a corner and when it arrived at the far post, Micky Lynch was on hand to score. Listowel never threw in the towel and when they got in behind us one on one with Jamie, Kevin Mc Cannon made a superb tackle to clear the danger.

In the second half Listowl put us under a lot of pressure, but with Pa, Patrick,Kevin and Colin playing well we stood up to the challenge. After about 15mins we cleared a corner and if fell to Ricky inside our half and he ran upfield and played the ball to Chris and then it was played to Adam, Ricky kept running and received it back just outside there box and chipped it over there keeper to make it 3 nil. At this stage Listowel pushed forward but with Micky Lynch and Micko Horan in centre midfield who were playing very well, we kept Listowel at bay. We conceded a silly free on the edge of the box, and Listowel got there only score 3-1 with 12 mins left. We again broke clear with Chris showing the Listowel backs a clean pair of heals we got our 4th. Game over. We really played very well with a lot of heart which I only look for Best for Dynamos - EVERYONE

TRALEE DYNAMOS   0   CURRANS   1

DENNY PREMIER B
The day David slew Goliath as Currans pull off shock win
By Jordan Murphy

The top of the table clash between Tralee Dynamos for so long the aristocrats of Kerry soccer and new kids on the block Currans FC who are in their first season in the top flight was suppose to turn out a predictable victory of the Tralee side in this Denny Premier B clash at Cahermoneen on Sunday morning. However the old order has changed in Kerry soccer as Currans sprung a major surprise when they lowered the colours of the highly rated Tralee outfit and in the process probably opened up the league race that many had predicted was going to be one way traffic.

Currans did not read the script and having scored in the opening 20 minutes they defended in numbers and invited Dynamos to breach their rearguard and this the Tralee side failed to do. For those who felt that teams like Currans had no business in the top flight taking on teams like the Dynamos, The Park, Killarney Celtic and Athletic got their answer in no uncertain fashion as John Lyons side struck a low for the rural club that may well give others the necessary self belief to slay the Goliath. This win by Currans pushes them three points clear of Dynamos but they have a game more played so it will be interesting to see what happens in the second half of the league but it is quite possible that both will make the semi finals. The game was played in difficult conditions with a strong wind and Dynamos played against it in the first half and enjoyed the better chances early on. As early as the ninth minute James Sugrue produced a dangerous cross into the Currans box but Jason Fitzgerald just could not make contact. Currans counter attacked and Noel Crowley saw his long-range effort being comfortably saved by Christopher Hegarty. Despite playing against the wind Dynamos were on top in midfield but found it difficult in the final third of the pitch. Sugrue then played another excellent cross but Fitzgerald’s header was well over the top in the 15th minute.

Then came the breakthrough that Currans needed and that was to score first which happened in the 17th minute and probably slightly against the run of the play. Currans won a corner which Pa McCarthy floated into the back post and KevinCasey’s low shot across goal was left by a Dynamos defender on the post thinking it was going wide but instead it crept into the corner of the net. This goal acted as a wake up call for the home side who pushed forward but found it difficult to create anything clear-cut against the strong wind as Curran retired 1-0 in front at the interval. Dynamos dominated most of the second half enjoying the lion’s share of possession but Currans defended well and also counter attacked dangerously on a couple of occasions. The visitors back four were outstanding with John Daly and James Galway  outstanding at the heart of the defence while Kevin Casey and John McGaley working tirelessly at midfield. Dynamos brought on Adrian McHugh and Eoin Cassidy but still failed to hit the target. McHugh got on the end of a good move in the 62nd minute but Kevin Moran made a fine save in the Currans goal. In the 68th minute McHugh was put through again by Sugrue and took the ball past Moran but under pressure at the tight angle he shot wide.
In the final 15 minutes the home side through caution to the wind and MauriceO’Rahilly had two good chances in quick succession. Firstly his over head acrobatic kick was just inches over the top and then he steered a header just over the Currans bar.
In the 82nd minute Currans nearly caught Dynamos on the break when the excellentPa McCarthy played John McGaley through but he shot over when he might have done better.

Overall Currans for their fighting qualities alone probably deserved to take maximum points while Dynamos will rue losing their unbeaten run in the league.

This victory was a well deserved win for the youths who played with a strong breeze in the first half but failed to open their account despite the better of the chances in the first half. Changes at half time saw Wayne Conway and Peter McCarthy introduced and in fact it was Wayne Conway who proved to be the difference between the sides with his clinical 2 goal finish. One has to remember that this is the first time in 2 years for the Dynamos to win against their deadly rivals who have taken all the major honours in the county for the last couple of years. This was a true squad performance with great heart and passion by all the players who stayed positive and focused on achieving all 3 points. Great credit is due to the players fitness levels that can be attributed to coach David Staunton.

Tralee Dynamos 3 Vs Listowel Celtic 3

YOUTHS

Tralee Dynamos youths clocked up their first point of the season after 2 games played in a cracking match with Listowel Celtic.

Listowel took the lead early in the first half only for Dynamos to equalise a few minutes later through Ricky Nolan. Dynamos then took the lead with Kevin Murphy turning his man inside the Listowel box and striking powerfully to the net to give Dynamos the lead.

And was the way with this tie Tom O'Rahilly's Listowel team equalised moments later through David Sheehy strike from outside the box that gave keeper Chris Hegarty no chance. Dynamos responded positive to this set back with Craig O'Hara getting a penalty for his team after referee Jim O'Connor indicated he was unfairly challenged in the square penalty kick Dynamos.

Dynamos captain Jamie McIntyre who was inspiring figure for his team struck the penalty to bottom left of the goal only for Celtic's keeper to make a fantastic save keeping the score at 2-2.

With 5 minutes left on the clock Dynamos got caught in possesion and Listowel took their chance to make it 3 -2. Great credit is due to this Dynamos squad and with 2 minutes left on the clock Wayne Conway got possesion outside the box got by 2 defenders and rifled an unstoppable shot to the net giving Dynamos a well deserved point. In  a game both teams played with fantastic spirit and committement and a draw was a fair result.

Killarney Celtic 2 Vs  Tralee Dynamos 1

Great credit is due to both teams for providing a very competitive match in appaling weather conditions. Dynamos opened the scoring through Adrian McHugh in the first half only for Celtic to equalise with a hotly disputed penalty in the second half.

90 minutes could not seperate the sides so extra time was needed and despite Dynamos playing the better football and creating the best chances in the game Celtic stole a winner with a minute left on the clock giving victory in fortunate circumstances.

Tralee Dynamos wish Killarney Celtic the best of luck for the rest of this competition. Also to our players Damien Diggins and Adrian Quirke who sustained injuries in weather conditions that Celtic Chairman quoted as saying the worst he had ever seen a game played in.

Team: Donnacha Galvin, Kevin McCannon, Maurice O'Rahilly, Adrian Quirke, Darren Crotty, Padraig McCannon, James Sugrue, David Conway, James Wall, Adrian McHugh, Damien Diggins. Manager Eddie Foster happy with a 2-0 win over Shannon Wanderers.

Tralee Dynamos started off a good day for the club with a very impressive 2 - 0 victory over Shannon Wanderers.Manager Eddie Foster will be very happy with his players who battled all the way to claim all three points.

Christy McCannon opened the scoring with a scorcher of a goal from 25 yards out his right footed swerved and dipped just inside the top corner of the net . Edgar McGrath scored the second from the edge of the area side footing to the net from 18 yards out giving the Shannon Wanderers keeper no chance.

Chris Hegarty in goals was equal to anything Shannon Wanderers tried making numerous saves to keep a well deserved clean sheet. Our backline was solid throughout the 90 minutes marshalled by Peter Willams and Colm Hanley in the centre and well supported by Ben Kavanagh and Patrick McCrohan.

Michael Lynch and Edgar McGrath controlled the middle of the park with Sean Foley and Adam Moss penetrating runs causing all sort of problems for Shannon Wanderers.

Christy McCannon was a constant threat up front scoring a deserved goal and his strike partner Ricky Nolan battled hard all the way through.

Dynamos hit Desmond League side for seven in Junior Cup

Tralee Dynamos had another facile win over Desmond League Division 1 opponents, this time Pallaskenry whom they hit for seven in this Statoil FAI Junior Cup fourth round clash at Cahermoneen on Sunday afternoon.

Dynamos had already scored eight against Foynes in the previous round and it is doubtful if these one sided contests are doing any good for the side.

This was one way traffic from the very start and the game  was long over before half time as the Kerry kingpins ran amock and the score could have been doubled with a bit more luck in front of goal.

Pallaskenry to their credit never gave up even though the tie was well beyond them and they played football to the end. Dynamos have been in trouble in trying to find a replacement for the unavailable David Hennessey, and they welcomed back veteran Donnacha Galvin who was one of the Dynamos greats of the past.

Ed Duggan and Damien Diggins missed two early chances before Dynamos took the lead in the 7th minute . David Conway played a nice through ball to Ed Duggan who was through one and one with the keeper and slipped past the keeper and put the ball into the empty net.

James Wall and David Conway were dominant in the middle of the park, as Dynamos doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Maurice O’Rahilly and Wall played a neat one-two before the “Goose” crashed the ball into the bottom of the Pallasakenry net and the Desmond League side just had no answers.

Diggins was at the end of an O’Rahilly cross but shot badly wide while Dynamos were creating so many chances that they seemed to have too  much time on the ball and Pallaskenry were hardly able to get out of their own half.

McIntyre saw his excellent cross reach Duggan in the 36th minute but his effort was straight at the keeper. Then the marauding “Goose” created havoc in the 39th minute when he raced through into the visitors box, but he was felled to the ground and Ed Duggan made no mistake from the penalty spot and Tralee Dynamos led 3-0 at half time.

The second half was a mere training spin for the Dynamos as O’Rahilly again attacked from the back, and squared the ball to Diggins who set up Duggan , to score his third in the 49th minute.

Diggins then released Duggan again a minute later and Duggan made it 5-0 and his fourth in a season where he has scored nine goals already.

In the 53rd minute Kevin McCannon set up Diggins whose shot was saved by the keeper but the ball broke to Poga McCannon who made it six.

Dynamos then took their foot off the pedal, introducing three substitutions and moved O’Rahilly up front as the game lost all its competitive edge.

Dynamos added one more goal from when Eoin Cassidy sent Darren Crotty through and he made no mistake as the sound of the referees whistle was the sweetest sound of the afternoon.

* Dynamos welcomed back Donnacha Galvin in goals and he restarted his Dynamos career with a clean sheet.

* Special thanks to Cathy and Cathriona White for providing the catering after the match for both teams.

* Special thanks also to our visitors Pallaskenry who never gave up and continued to play football regardless of the scoreline and as one of their players said after the game "tis time for some special Kerry pints"

*Congratulation to Michael & Mags Lynch of the birth of their baby daughter.

Listowel Celtic 0 Tralee Dynamos A  1

Adrian Quirke impressed at centre half Eddie Duggan scored the winner.

Dynamos travelled to Tanavalla to play Listowel Celtic for the second time in a season which is only a couple of months old. The first note of chance took almost 10 minutes to come with a James Wall cross which keeper Carey did well to knock out of the path of McHugh and Duggan for a corner. From the resultant corner Duggan blazed high and wide from 12 yards out.

In the 15th minute Listowel had one of few chances they created with Mickey Paul Kellihers header easily saved by stand in keeper Eoin Cassidy. Cassidy was to be instrumental in Dynamos achieving all 3 points not bad for a centre half!!!!

Listowel Celtic did have in their ranks man of the match Aiden Carey in sparkling form between the posts saving on at least 8 or 9 occassions. Duggan thought he had finally broken the deadlock in the 31th minute when his shot beat Aiden Carey only to rebound from the foot of the post.

Dynamos had the ball in the net a minute later when Theo Diggins on a overlap down the wing wipped in a cross for Duggan to side foot to the net only to have referee Seamus O'Mahoney to disallow his effort for offside.

Half Time 0-0

Dynamos were first again to test the keeper with Damien Diggins left footed volley saved by the feet of Carey. In the 53rd minute Eddie Duggan had the ball in the Listowel Celtic's net only for his effort to be ruled out again for offside.

In the 61th minute Listowel's best chance of the match fell to subsitute Seamus Keane who dribbled past Crotty on the left past O'Rahilly on the right inside the box and from the corner of the 6 yard box struck his shot with power only for Cassidy in the Dynamos goal with superb reflex reaction parried the ball out for a corner.

Disaster struck for Listowel when a quick counter attack by Dynamos saw Adrian Quirkes ball over the top handled by Mark Twomey and as the referee deemed he was the last defender denying Dynamos a clear goal scoring opportunity he was red carded thus giving Dynamos numerical advantage which they made to pay within a few minutes.

Eddie Duggan finally got on the scoresheet after a through ball put him one on one with Carey who saved Duggan's inital right footed effort only for the ball to rebound back to Duggan on his left foot and he confidently side footed in to the back of the net to break Carey's resolve and put Dynamos ahead.

Celtic were then reduced to 9 men as Kevin Flavin who battled hard all day at centre forward got yellow carded for the second time for dissent.

Dynamos retained possesion to see out their second win over Listowel, who now need to gain some points and hope they see some of their players return from injuries.

Team: Eoin Cassidy, Theo Diggins, Darren Crotty, Maurice O'Rahilly,  Adrian Quirke, Eddie Duggan, Padraig McCannon, James Wall, Kevin McCannon, Adrian McHugh, Damien Diggins

Padraig McCannon scores his second of the season

Dynamos secured all three points against a very determined Mainebank side. Dynamos started very brightly when James Wall inch perfect cross was met by  Damien Diggins who headed to the net in the 8th minute. A defensive lapse of concentration saw Mainebank equalise minutes later. Adrian McHugh restored Dynamos lead before a Mainebank corner on the stroke of half time equalised matters once again. Dynamos made three changes at half time which seemed to have the desired effect with Padraig McCannon hitting the post within a minute of the restart. Damien Diggins scored his second and from here Dynamos asserted their authority on the game with goals from Kevin McCannon his first of the season and then it was time for his cousin Padraig McCannon to seal the win. Dynamos will be dissapointed to lose David Conway in the 86th minute for two yellow cards.

Rineanna Rovers 1 Vs Tralee Dynamos 2

David Conway dominated the midfield.

Tralee Dynamos made the journey to Newmarket on Fergus a successful one with goals from Eoin Cassidy header on the 18th minute and Adrian McHugh on the 60th minute. Rineanna responded with a penalty in the 40th minute.

Dynamos had to start the game without keeper David Hennessey injured for the Kerry under 21 team in Kilkenny. Recent media reports indicated that clubs were not helping the Kerry cause when in fact if you look at Tralee Dynamos losses to the county team the list seems to get longer by the week.

James Sugrue cup tied after playing more than five games, Brian Fitzgerald, Chris Kerins, Eoin Walsh, Shane O'Carroll and David Hennessey all players who started as Dynamos players with the Under 21 back in May and who have had limited input to their club ever since. Surely something is needed to happen to address this situation.

Tralee Dynamos national ambitions are still in tact one hopes that common goals will be achieved by all in Kerry soccer.

Team: Damien Diggins, Maurice O'Rahilly, Darren Crotty, Eoin Cassidy, Adrian Quirke, Billy Stack, David Conway, Kevin McCannon, Eddie Duggan, Padraig McCannon, Adrian McHugh.

Maurice O'Rahilly outstanding defender

Ballyhar Dynamos 0 - Tralee Dynamos 3

Michael Lynch introduced as substitute on the 65th minute

Tralee Dynamos travelled to the impressive new Ballyhar pitch and dressing rooms. Weather conditions were poor with driving rain and  a strong wind for Dynamos to defend against in the first half.

Chances were few and far between with play scrappy due to the underfoot conditions. James Wall was the first to have a shot at the Ballyhar goal when his effort went left and wide after 15 minutes.

Theo Diggins cleared off the line to deny Ballyhar who's long ball up the field with the wind seemed to have some effect in applying pressure on the Dynamos goal. It has to be said over the 90 minutes goalkeeper David Hennessy was rarely tested.

Dynamos came out for the second half in a far more determined manner to get all 3 points. Lead by the impressive David Conway from a central midfield position and Eoin Cassidy's ariel ability chances start to fall for the Dynamos front men.

Eddie Duggan was on hand to opening the scoring for the reds after good build up play by Adrian Quirke who in turn found Maurice O'Rahilly whos right footed cross met the inrushing Duggnan to bury to the net.

Further goals by Damien Diggins and an fortunate O.G. by the Ballyhar defender gave Dynamos the 3 points their performance deserved.

Tralee Dynamos: David Hennessy, Maurice O'Rahilly, Theo Diggins, Eoin Cassidy, Adrian Quirke, Billy Stack, James Wall, David Conway, Eddie Duggan, Padraig McCannon, Damien Diggins.

Tralee Dynamos 4 - Killarney Athletic 0

Damien Diggins with his 3rd goal of the season.

Tralee Dynamos met old rivals Killarney Athletic for the second time in the space of  a few weeks with the honours going to the Tralee side once again on a very impressive scoreline.

Adrian McHugh opened the scoring on the 15th minute as a result of a poor clearance by keeper Moynihan. McHugh gained possesion 20 yards out and with Moynihan coming out to narrow the angle McHugh with the coolest chip gave the keeper no chance 1-0 to Dynamos.

Killarney Athletics best chance of the game came in the 21st minute of this game from a Joe Hurley corner Emmanuel rose highest to power a header towards goal only for a super reaction save from keeper Hennessy.

Dynamos doubled their advantage a few minutes later when a quick break saw David Conway's diagonal pass reach Billy Stack who took on couple of defenders and shot to the corner making it 2 nil Dynamos.

Billy Stack then showed his defensive qualities when he stopped Emmanuel from going through on the Dynamos goal denying Athletic a badly needed goal.

In the 35th minute of this game saw the first booking go to David Conway for a late challenge on Galen Carroll. All in Kerry soccer will be glad to see Galen return from a long term injury.

Half time: Tralee Dynamos 2 - Killarney Athletic 0

Half time and both teams made changes with Eoin Cassidy and James Sugrue coming in for Eddie Duggan and Darren Crotty. Athletic bought in Shane Bunman for Emmanuel.

Dynamos continued where they left off in the first half and in the 60th minute the game ended as a contest when McHugh using his upper body strenght to the maximun holding off Athletics Mike Grady turned in possesion and unleashed a powerful strike to the corner of the net. Dynamos 3-0.

Athletic tried hard but to no avail with chances falling to Neil Kelders, Mark Pyne, and Kenneth Clifford all failing to test Hennessy in the Tralee goal.

Tralee Dynamos travelled to Foynes to take on the local Desmond premier league side and came away with a facile 8-1 win. Dynamos with goals from Adrian McHugh (3), Eddie Duggan (3), Damien Diggins and one from James Wall who completed the scoring.

Foynes got a quick reminder on what to expect from the kingpins of Kerry soccer within 2 minutes of Tony Fitzmaurice's whistle when Damien Diggins had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled marginally offside. Again Foynes were on the backfoot in the 6th minute with Billy Stack crossing for Adrian Mc Hugh to head just over.

Foynes had one of only a few chances in this game on the 23rd minute when Foynes best performer Eoin O'Connor drove his shot just over the bar with keeper Cotter struggling to get to the flight of the ball. Two minutes later Eoin O'Connor's trickery got him past the Dynamos defence and just as he was about to shoot Quirkes outstretched tackle was deemed to have got the man and not ball penalty to Foynes. Declan Lane took the penalty giving keeper Cotter little chance 3-1 Dynamos.

In the 29th minute game was all over when a Duggans cross was handled in the Foynes square penalty to Dynamos that Eddie Duggan took himself scoring his second of his hat trick.

In the 32nd minute Adrian McHugh linked up with Maurice O'Rahilly to score his 2nd of his hat trick with a very good finish after a neat 1-2. McHugh completed his treble 7 minute later rising highest to power home from a Billy Stack corner. 6-1 Dynamos.
