Killarney Athletic A 3

              This is the 1^st game of the season and Dynamo’s where facing a very strong Athletic team. With late withdrawals from the 1^st team we were down 2 the bone with only 13 players to pick from. We had the nuclease of the squad from last season with 3 new players, Ado O Shea returning, Chris Mc Cannon from Tralee Utd, and Owen Mullins.

           The game kicked of at a good pace with both teams playing nice football, with few chances created. Our midfield was at times overworked, as they dropped of their front men into midfield, which caused us problems. Niall and Benn worked hard on the wings with Ado and Sonic getting around breaking up their attacks and putting us on the forward foot. Athletic where very dangerous on the attack but our back 4 where coping, keeping there attackers at bay.     

          After 20 mins Athletic scored a dubious goal which we felt was offside, but the No 7 off Athletic kept his nerve and slotted it past Robert. We continued to push forward and with new boy Chris and Eric up front we felt we could score. Against the run of play Athletic No 9 got in behind our back four, and with Pa and Robert blocking his effort, but the rebound fell kindly 4 him and he slotted the ball home 2 make it 2-0. We kept on going and with good work from Niall and Eric the ball broke 2 Sonic who thundered a shot against the crossbar. 

            Into the 2^nd half we still believed we could get back into the game, but with Athletic still dangerous on the break, we could not go all out to get that important goal. 20 mins into the second half Benn got a knock on the leg and we made our 1^st change. Mike (Rooney) Breen can on up front with Eric playing left midfield. 10 mins from the end Owen coming on 2 makes his debut in goal with Robert going up front. We got a corner in the last minute when Pa sent in the corner; their full back powered a header into his own net. We than went 4 a equaliser but was caught and they scored there 3^rd.
