Killian O'Sullivan reports from the Tralee Dynamos Super Seven's.

There were no medals, no prizes at stake at Tralee Dynamos on Sunday night, only passion and enjoyment for playing as the Schoolboy League's most tender age groups gathered from five different clubs throughout the county in what may be considered a further stepping stone in the thriving sucess inunderage soccer in Kerry. Teams from Listowel Celtic, Camp Rangers, Park, Inter Kenmare and Killarney Celtic battled in the under sevens, eights, nines and tens over eight fantastic pitches.

As many as six teams were present from each club, with both boys and  girls lining out together on the pitch. The girls can by no means be considered minnows either, fighting bone for bone, indeed leaving some of the lads red faced. The representation and commitment from each team on the day was plausable as each game was fought trouble free, the only winner on the day being of enjoyment and indeed huge sucess for the Kerry Schoolboy League.

Chief organiser on the day, Noel White said of the proceedings; "There was a fantastic turnout from all clubs involved today. This is a reat boost for the youth academy development in Kerry. The commitment and hard work put in by the volunteers from each club was second to none today. We saw , great spirit and fantastic football. A special thanks to all the players from Tralee Dynamos who helped to make the day a great success.

Much credit must go to the referees, organisers and trainers, who were  all present on a voluntary basis and contributed greatly on the day. Of  course none of this would be possible without the outstanding contributions  made by every player present who represented their clubs remarkably. The windy conditions in Tralee did little to deter an enjoyable day of  soccer as everybody present left with a smile on their face and perhaps for some, permanent memories of their first time stepping onto a pitch to represent their club.

Tralee Dynamos were left with no other choice but to cancel the Super Sevens due to the advise of the Met Office where the forecast for Sunday was high wind, heavy rains and risks of local flooding. The decision was only made after consultation with the Kerry Schoolboys League and officers from the various clubs who indicated concern with the pending weather. Tralee Dynamos would like to thank the following clubs for its support  Kingdom Boys, St. Brendan's Park, Camp Juniors and Killarney Celtic. Over 50 players from our senior "A", "B" and youth teams had volunteered their support for the day. Our Fás scheme for their hard work in preparing our venue for the day and finally Chairman Ger Moloney and Colm Clifford and Eddie Foster for all their support. Tralee Dynamos have expressed their interest to the Kerry Schoolboys League with interest to host this event in May or June. To all the boys and girls of all the clubs we hope to see ye then!!!!!!

We will have 12 pitches used on the day making Cahermooneen a little "Wembley" for the soccer kids of our county on the day.
