Tralee Dynamos advanced to the William Maine Youth Cup
final at Mounthawk Park on Saturday with a 2 – 0 win over St Brendan’s Park.
This was a game between two very good sides that have an
abundance of footballing ability.

Goal
Poachers Supreme: Kevin Hurley, Ricky Nolan, Wayne Conway
While the game was played at a lively
pace very few clear cut chances were created in the first half with both
defenses dealing capably with everything that was thrown at them.
However The Park looked the more likely
to score as they shaded the first half exchanges.
The Park almost went ahead 7 minutes into
the second half when David Rogers slipped the ball through to Jamie Blake who
crossed to Joe Wall and his ferocious volley shaved the post.

In
safe hands: Tom Collins, Chris Hegarty, Gavin Lyons
Then an tactical change by Dynamos
manager Noel White introducing Alan O’Sullivan proved a master stroke as he
went on to release Kevin Hurley to play up front who in turn scored both of the
Dynamos goals.
Against the run of play Dynamos took the
lead in the 57th minute with Jamie Mc Intyre taking control of the ball at
midfield and releasing it to sub James Hurley who sneaked in behind the Park
defense and slotted the ball to the net.

Irish
Junior International: James Sugrue looks after the warm up
As the game progressed The Park committed
themselves to attack and Dynamos with Damian Quirke putting James Hurley free
down the right wing caught them on the break and he outsmarted the Park goalie
and stroked the ball to the net.
The Park management team felt very
aggrieved at a couple of the referee decisions especially denying them what
appeared to be a penalty when David Rogers was taken down inside the box.
Also the sending off of Joe Wall for a
second yellow card offence was very harsh as he was only giving out to his own
players and not the official in charge.

Midfield
Maestro: James Wall keeps an watchful eye over Anthony Shanahan,Craig
O'Hara
While there were a lot of outstanding performances on each side Shane Brosnan of The Park was the best player on view giving an exhibition of the very best of defending skills throughout the game while Jamie Mc Intrye for Tralee Dynamos gave a superb display at the heart of midfield from where he set up many of his sides attacking moves

Damo
leads out:
There are several players from each side
good enough for the Kerry under 21team panel including Shane Brosnan, Con
Barrett, David Rogers and Wayne Guthrie from The Park and Theo Diggins, Damian
Quirke, and Jamie Mc Intyre from Tralee Dynamos.
